You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first walked up to this place on Sabir Street – honestly, the building looks pretty typical from the outside, just another residential block in Icheri Sheher. But once you’re inside this apartment, it hits you that you’re actually staying in the heart of Baku’s Old City, and that’s something special. The owners have done a really nice job making it feel homey without going overboard on the “authentic Azerbaijani” theme that some places try too hard with.

What I loved most was stepping out in the morning and being right there among the cobblestones and old walls – I mean, you’re literally living inside a UNESCO World Heritage site. The Maiden Tower is maybe a three-minute walk, and you can wander over to the Palace of the Shirvanshahs before the tour groups show up (trust me on this timing). The apartment itself is genuinely comfortable – the “sweet” in the name isn’t just marketing fluff. They’ve got good Wi-Fi, the shower actually has decent water pressure, and the bed was way more comfortable than I expected. There’s this nice little seating area where you can have your morning coffee and plan out your day, and the kitchen has everything you need if you want to grab some fresh bread from one of the nearby bakeries (there’s a great one just around the corner that opens early).

I’ll be honest though – you will hear some street noise, especially on weekends when people are walking through the old city late at night, but that’s just part of staying in the center of things. The check-in was smooth, and the host actually gave me some solid recommendations for restaurants that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. If you’re looking for a sterile hotel experience, this isn’t it, but if you want to feel like you’re actually living in Baku for a few days rather than just visiting, this apartment delivers. The location alone makes it worth it – you can walk to the modern part of the city in about fifteen minutes, but you’re coming home to narrow streets and old architecture that makes you forget you’re in a major oil capital. Plus, at this price point and with ratings consistently in the high 8s, it’s honestly one of the better deals I’ve found in the Old City.

  The location is great, communication with the host was easy. A plus for us was that the door is locked with a code, so you don't need to think about the key. The apartment was spacious – the kitchen had the basics you need. We felt very comfortable and had a great time!
  
  What could be improved: Just some minor inconveniences you would expect in the kitchen (loose pan handle, no cook spoon etc.). It wasn't a bother to us, but just so you know, if you sleep with open windows it might get a little noisy – there is ac thogh.

  Location perfect in the old city. His cleaning lady who manages the place and lives next door was super friendly to us throughout. Nice comfy living room couch and good enough stove for cooking.
  
  What could be improved: Manager slow to respond, kind of rude in messages. No a/c remote so couldn't use a/c. Bathroom overall just kind of grungy. No squeegy for bathroom so always water on floor from shower.

  Loved the large apartment, it had everything we needed. Small grocery shop right outside. Host was friendly and willing to help with everything we could need.

  The apartment is very comfortable. It has everything you might need. The location is exceptional, right in the old city. There's several restaurants nearby. The instructions about the location of the apartment and check-in were very clear and convenient.
