High comfort on Nizami street center of Baku Overview
Look, I’ll be straight with you about this place on Mardanov Gardashlary street – it’s one of those hidden gems that doesn’t try too hard but gets the basics really right. When I first walked up to the building, honestly, I almost thought I had the wrong address because it sits so quietly among the residential buildings. But that’s actually part of its charm, you know? You’re literally a two-minute walk from all the chaos of Nizami street with its shops and restaurants, but when you come back at night, it feels like you’re staying in a proper neighborhood instead of some tourist bubble.
The thing that struck me most was how the staff actually seemed to care about getting you oriented in Baku – and I mean beyond just handing you a generic city map. The guy at reception (I think his name was Elvin?) knew which marshrutkas to take to get to the Old City without getting stuck in traffic, and he steered me away from the overpriced restaurants that target tourists. Small touches like that make a difference when you’re trying to get a feel for a place. The rooms themselves are… well, they’re comfortable without being fancy. Clean linens, decent shower pressure, and – this matters more than you’d think – proper blackout curtains that actually block the morning sun. I mean, the decor isn’t going to win any design awards, but everything works and feels well-maintained.
What I really appreciated was the location’s sweet spot factor. You can walk to the Flame Towers area if you’re feeling energetic, or catch a taxi to the waterfront in about ten minutes depending on traffic. But here’s what the booking sites don’t tell you – you’re also walking distance from some fantastic local spots that most visitors never find. There’s this little bakery around the corner that does incredible qutab in the mornings, and honestly, some of my best meals in Baku came from just wandering the nearby streets rather than hitting the obvious tourist restaurants. The neighborhood gets lively in the evenings but quiets down by around 11 PM, so you can actually sleep without earplugs (trust me, that’s not always the case in central Baku).
Sure, it’s not luxury – the elevator is a bit slow and the WiFi can be spotty in the early evenings when everyone’s streaming – but for the price point and the genuine local feel, it delivers exactly what it promises. If you’re the type of traveler who’d rather spend money on experiences than thread counts, and you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than a generic hotel bubble, this place makes a lot of sense. Just don’t expect a concierge desk or room service – think of it more as your comfortable base camp for exploring Baku properly.

Its location
What could be improved: Its was just on the nizami street like you open the door and step out of property you will be on nizami streetExceptional – Moon from United Arab Emirates – 1 June 2025 (10/10)
It was a very great experience and a nice location The owner is very polite and humble he is a very good person
Very very disappointed ☹️ – Muneeb from United Kingdom – 25 March 2025 (1/10)
To be honest…Nothing to be like .🙂
What could be improved: So first of all i book this apartment, when I reached there , the apartment staff(owner) told me that the apartment you book is not available now , he was lying to me that there is some hot water problem , if you want i can show you other apartment , so i was having no other choice thats why i went with him to other apartment , where i stayed; there were too many issues hot water was not working , gas stoves were not working, washing machines were not working, there was a very bad smell in the apartment. I discuss this issues to the staff to resolve it but they were not listening, i ask him to change my flat he demand for extra money for charging the apartment .Bad – Muhammad from Pakistan – 26 January 2025 (1/10)
The location is no where to be found and there was no airport shuttle
What could be improved: I didn't get a proper response from the host and i tried finding the location in freezing cold but it was no where to be found so i had to choose another place to stayGood stay in the centre of Baku – Krista from United Kingdom – 22 November 2024 (8/10)
Very kind, responsive and helpful host. Any small things I requested to be fixed or added were resolved quickly. The location is amazing, surrounded by restaurants and shopping and the old city. Great transit links to everywhere in Baku. The apartment is also very well equipped and has everything you need for even a longer stay (incl. kitchen, washing machine, smart TV, fast Wi-Fi).
What could be improved: The apartment building is very old and there are a couple of little fixes that would enhance this place further, including revamping the bathroom. It faces an internal staircase and has two very small windows so limited daylight.Great – Yana from Netherlands – 8 October 2024 (9/10)
Location is great. The staff was very kind and helpful. I was able to check in even that I arrived after the check in time and in the middle of the night . Communication was fast and easy.
Good room inside – Prem from India – 28 September 2024 (9/10)
The staff was very receptive and accommodative. the room is very clean and well kept. All basic things were available at the room. Nizami street is just 2 minutes walk from here.
What could be improved: The spring mattress is too old and lost its hardness, once you sit on it you land at the bottom. The approach to the hotel was dirty as it was a byline, passing through back of a hotel were the garbage bin is placed.Bad – Anonymous from Kazakhstan – 7 October 2023 (1/10)

The owner is exceptionally nice.
What could be improved: The bed was a bit lumpy. I'd change the mattress if I were the owner. 😉
