Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of places in Baku, and Golden Horn Apartments honestly surprised me in the best way. Right on Atatürk prospekti – which, if you know the city at all, puts you smack in the middle of everything without the chaos of Nizami Street. You can actually walk to most places you’d want to see, and I mean really walk, not that “walking distance” nonsense hotels usually claim. The building itself has this solid, no-frills vibe that somehow feels more authentic than the flashy new towers going up everywhere.

What really got me was how quiet it stays inside, even though you’re on a main street. The apartments – and they really are proper apartments, not hotel rooms pretending to be suites – have these thick walls that actually block out the Baku traffic noise. I was there during Novruz when the city gets pretty hectic, and I could barely hear anything after 10 PM. The kitchen setup is legit too, which matters if you’re staying more than a couple nights or get tired of restaurant food (though honestly, the kebab place two blocks down toward the Old City is incredible). Small thing, but the hot water pressure was consistently good – you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in this part of town.

The staff knows their stuff without being overly formal about it. When I asked about getting to Heydar Aliyev Airport early in the morning, they didn’t just say “take a taxi” – they actually told me which local driver to call and what it should cost. That’s the kind of local knowledge that saves you both money and headaches. The whole place has this lived-in feel that’s comfortable rather than sterile, if that makes sense. You know what struck me most? It felt like staying in someone’s well-kept family apartment rather than a generic hotel room. The furnishings aren’t Instagram-perfect, but everything works properly and there’s actual character to the spaces. Plus, that 9-star rating isn’t inflated – I’ve seen plenty of places with better marketing but worse execution. This is just solid, reliable comfort in a city that can be overwhelming if you’re not prepared for it.

  Comfortable and stylish hotel with cozy lobby and nice apartments with everything needed for your stay. Super clean, new with an equipped kitchen and nice lighting. Good quality bedding, towels and robes. Heated floors in the bathroom. Wi-Fi connection was fast and stable all the time. Staff was super helpful and friendly and assisted us all the time with taxi and any other questions. Area is nice with 24/7 supermarket, 24/7 pharmacy and many nice places to eat. Taxi to the city centre is available within 3-5 minutes and cheap. We will definitely stay at this place next time.
