Walking up Mirza Ibrahimov Street for the first time, you’re thinking “okay, another standard three-star spot,” but then you actually get inside and realize someone here really gets what travelers want. The whole place sits on the second floor, which I was initially skeptical about (who wants to haul luggage upstairs?), but honestly, it ends up being this nice quiet retreat above all the street-level hustle.

What really struck me was how the staff seemed to anticipate things before you even asked. I mean, you know how most hotels have that slightly chaotic check-in energy? Not here. The front desk folks actually remember your name after day one, and they’ll casually mention things like “the metro station gets pretty crowded around 8 AM if you’re heading downtown” or “there’s this little bakery two blocks over that opens early.” That kind of local insight you just don’t get at bigger chains. The rooms themselves are clean and well-maintained – nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which honestly is half the battle in this part of the world. The Wi-Fi actually delivers on its promises, the shower pressure is solid, and the beds are comfortable enough that you’re not tossing around all night.

Here’s the thing though – and this is why I think it’s got such a high rating despite being a three-star place – it’s the location combined with that personal touch that makes it work. You’re in Yasamal, which means you can walk to decent restaurants and cafes without dealing with the tourist trap pricing closer to the Old City, but you’re still only a quick taxi ride from anywhere you actually want to visit. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel where you’ll see locals going about their daily routines, kids playing in the courtyards, that sort of authentic city life you miss when you’re stuck in hotel districts. Plus, and this might sound minor, but the building stays surprisingly quiet at night – something about being elevated from street level really cuts down on traffic noise. I’ve stayed at pricier places in Baku where you’re dealing with construction sounds at 6 AM or late-night revelers, but here you can actually sleep. The only small downside is that the elevator can be a bit temperamental, but the staff knows this and they’ll warn you if it’s having one of its moody days. All in all, it’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere real rather than some generic hotel bubble – and for the price point, that’s pretty remarkable.

  The deluxe room was beautiful and very comfortable. I appreciated the air conditioner, the microfridge, and the window shutters that could block out light. The hotel is conveniently located near Fountain Square, with lots of options for dining and shopping. The staff were polite and attentive, and the breakfast was fresh and tasty.I would stay here again.
  
  What could be improved: The rooms surround the lobby and kitchen area, and mine was closest to the front desk. So sometimes it was noisy because of music, talking, or kitchen activity outside my room. Also be aware breakfast, while brought to the room, may not arrive until after 10am (for me this is quite late). I think it's possible to ask for it earlier, but it was unclear who to ask and how much earlier it could be ready.

  The location of the Hotel is amazing. It made it really easy for us to explore the old town and city centre. Ali helped us with recommendations and also stored our luggage when we went for a small trip to the mountains. Eventhough we left before the breakfast, he arranged something so we could eat in time.
