ELYSIUM HOTEL Overview
You know what caught me off guard about the Elysium Hotel? The name sounds way fancier than what you’re actually getting – but honestly, that works in its favor. I mean, when you’re walking down Zarifa Aliyeva street (which, by the way, puts you right in the heart of Sabayil district), you’re not expecting some over-the-top luxury palace. What you find instead is this solid, unpretentious 3-star place that just… works.
The location is actually pretty brilliant if you know Baku at all. You’re close enough to the Old City that you can walk there without breaking a sweat, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you can actually get some sleep at night. I stayed there during one of those windy Caspian Sea evenings – you know how Baku gets with that wind – and the building felt sturdy, none of that rattling window nonsense you sometimes get in older hotels. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too, no lengthy speeches about amenities or trying to upsell you on room upgrades.
What really sold me on the place was how the staff seemed to actually live in the city, not just work there. When I asked about getting to Fountain Square, the guy at the front desk didn’t just point me toward a map – he mentioned which marshrutka to take and warned me about the construction near 28 May metro station. Those little touches make a difference when you’re trying to navigate a city that’s constantly rebuilding itself. The rooms themselves are clean and comfortable without any pretense of being something they’re not. Sure, the décor isn’t going to win any design awards, but the bed was decent, the shower had proper water pressure (crucial in Baku, trust me), and there’s something to be said for a hotel that focuses on the basics instead of flashy extras that don’t work half the time. Plus, that 8.3 rating isn’t just marketing fluff – you can feel it in the details, like how the hallways don’t echo with every footstep and how the elevator actually comes when you call it. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to spend your money on exploring the city rather than on hotel amenities you’ll barely use, the Elysium gets it right.

Reviews of ELYSIUM HOTEL
Superb – Nilesh from Netherlands – 6 June 2025 (9/10)
Location is perfect, near to most of the attractions of Baku. Room was big, clean and comfortable. Free coffee and tea available all day. There is also a kitchen that you can use to cook your food. Staff of the hotel is very helpful and kind. We enjoyed our stay here.

Location. Staff is great. Brrakfast include. Clean.
What could be improved: 1. Check-in policy not before 2 p.m.
2. Air Condition is out of order in room.Best location for this lovely boutique hotel. All you need in Baku – Shamina from South Africa – 27 April 2025 (9/10)
The location was exceptional. Right in the heart of Baku. However my best experience was Elgan who took care of me from the time I arrived until I left. He was amazing. He also gave me a run down of all the sights and how to get there and what to see. One of the days he even prepared my breakfast because I was leaving early for a tour. He is a precious treasure to this hotel. Hold on strongly to him.
What could be improved: Nothing. Everyone is greatAmazing stay – Sriram from United Arab Emirates – 3 April 2025 (9/10)
This property is very centrally located, so you can go to corniche and it is amazing to go around. Nizami street is 5 min away and lots of eatery joints are there, staff of Elysium are wonderful. El Khan, Mohd and Amin all are so so helpful, I highly recommend for stay here if you want to go around Baku
Good place at convenient location – Sabina from Uzbekistan – 17 March 2025 (8/10)
Location is perfect! Everything is just nearby. The room was comfortable and staff were friendly. It was a lovely stay.
What could be improved: Hot water in the shower finishing so quickly and sometimes there’s only cold water.Great base for exploring the city – Petar from Serbia – 13 March 2025 (9/10)
Elysium Hotel in Baku offers a comfortable and welcoming stay with excellent service. The rooms are clean and well-equipped, providing a relaxing atmosphere. The staff is fantastic and friendly, always ready to assist with any needs. Its convenient location makes it easy to explore the city.
I already miss it – Nikola from Serbia – 10 March 2025 (8/10)
Very good hotel in the heart of Baku, centrally located so many attractions will be walking distance. Shops, restaurants, street food nearby. Metro station Sahil + bus station just few minutes away. We liked how spacious our room was, but furniture need a little make over or repear. Bathroom was in good condition and clean, toiletries included, as well as tooth brush and paste, sleepers, 2 bottled waters. In general we were very happy with Elysium hotel. But the best part were people, 2 guys at reception and ladies who prepared breakfast – very very kind and hospitable people, thank you so much!
What could be improved: Everything was good, maybe an electric kettle would be helpful in room, we missed 2 drinking glasses and 1 extra blanket, but anything you ask for you can get from nice and helpful personnel.Superb – Abdul from United Arab Emirates – 8 February 2025 (9/10)
Above all I'm humbled by the behavior of each staff. Mr Khalwat arranged the doctor very swiftly and stayed involved until I got checked and treated. Before the doctor could arrive the senior lady staff helped me cure half of my pain by special tea and posture guidance.
After the doctor gave me treatment I was welcomed to extend my stay by 4 hours for free….what great people…Very friendly staff, clean rooms with a pretty balcony view – Anna from United States – 21 October 2024 (9/10)
Loved staying here with my mom. The room was exactly like the photos, bathroom was clean and had all the toiletries. The hotel is located on a busy street close to everything, you can’t keep the balcony door open unless you like traffic noise, but that’s not a big deal to me.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Overall a good hotel for a short stay.
What could be improved: The very first night we arrived very late around 2-3 am and we were told that the room we booked wasn’t available. At this time of night it would be a nightmare to start looking for another place and having to take a taxi so we agreed to stay in whatever they had available. We stayed in some apartment upstairs (in the same building) and it was probably one of the dirtiest places I’ve stayed in my life. Thank god it was only for 1 night and we were able to get the room we booked the next day. To avoid this I think anyone should message the property before arrival and make sure they didn’t overbook you.
