I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Empire Baku Hotel on Khagani Street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes the best surprises come in unassuming packages. This little gem sits right in the heart of Sabayil, and I mean *right* in the heart – you’re basically a few minutes’ walk from the Old City walls and all that UNESCO World Heritage magic.

The thing about this location is that you’re on Khagani Street, which locals actually use (not some touristy side street), so there’s this authentic buzz around you. I could hear the morning coffee vendors setting up, catch whiffs of fresh bread from the bakery next block over, and honestly, it felt like staying in a real neighborhood rather than some sterile hotel district. The building itself has this sort of understated elegance – nothing flashy, but clean lines and they’ve clearly put thought into the details. Check-in was surprisingly smooth, and the staff actually seemed to know the area well enough to give real recommendations, not just the obvious tourist traps.

What really won me over, though, was how the place feels once you settle in. The rooms aren’t huge – I mean, this is Baku city center, space is premium – but they’re thoughtfully laid out and actually quiet despite being on a fairly busy street. They must have decent windows because the city noise fades to this pleasant background hum rather than keeping you up all night. The 8.5 rating makes total sense when you experience it – it’s not trying to be the Ritz, but everything works well and feels intentional. You can walk to Fountain Square in maybe 10 minutes if you’re moving at a decent pace, hit the Caspian waterfront when you want that sea breeze, and there’s this great little tea house two blocks down that nobody puts in guidebooks but serves the best plov I had during my entire stay.

Actually, that’s probably what I’d tell anyone considering this place – Empire Baku gets the fundamentals right without any unnecessary fuss, and positions you perfectly to actually explore Baku like someone who lives there rather than just checking famous spots off a list. Plus, parking isn’t a nightmare if you’re driving, which honestly can’t be said for a lot of places in this part of the city.

  What could be improved: Есть вопросы с номерами эконом класса, лучше бронируйте категорию повыше. Номер эконом класса подходит что бы переночевать одну ночь, очень мало места в них для долгого пребывания.

  Lage in Nähe mehrerer Handelsstrassen, auch der Nizani Street. Freundliches Personal, auch wenn bei manchen das Englisch nicht besonders flüssig war. Variationsreiches Frühstcück ( Kaffee / Tee aus dem samowar, Gemüsesalate, Brot mit Käse / Wurstwaren, Joghurt, 2 – 3 Sorten süße Snacks. Gute und schnell reagierende Heizung (auch in kalter Jahreszeit in ca. 1/2 Stunde ganzes Zimmer geheizt.

  Профессиональное обслуживание и отличный завтрак. Чай в кафетерии / лобби можно попить бесплатно круглые сутки, и это замечательно! Как мало человеку нужно для особенно хорошего впечатления ))

  Отличное расположение, рядом набережная, есть кафе, рестораны, маркет, очень легко добраться. Мы были проездом, из аэропорта добрались на шатлбасе и от остановки 28 мая дошли за 5 минут. Изначально бронировали эконом, нам сделали апргрейд и дали номер комфорт, мы были довольны. В отеле есть ресторан
  
  What could be improved: Это не является минусом, скорее всего говорит о том как быстро реагируют на вопросы клиентов. В душе плохо работал шланг душевой лейки, позвонили и тутже пришел специалист и заменил
