You know what’s funny about Baku? Everyone talks about the flashy hotels near the Flame Towers, but honestly, some of the best stays happen in places like Twelve Inn Hotel – tucked away in the Yasamal district where actual locals live and work. I mean, when you see a 3-star place pulling a 9.2 rating, there’s usually a good reason for it.

The thing about staying on İslam Səfərli street is that you’re not in tourist-land anymore. You’ll hear the morning call to prayer from nearby mosques (it’s actually quite beautiful if you’re an early riser), and there’s this authentic neighborhood buzz that happens around 7 AM when people head to work. The hotel itself feels like someone took a lot of care with the details – not fancy in an over-the-top way, but everything just… works. The lobby has this warm lighting that makes you want to linger with a tea, and the staff genuinely seems to remember your name after day one, which is rarer than you’d think these days.

What really got me was how the place handles the little things that can make or break a stay. The Wi-Fi actually reaches your room (revolutionary concept, I know), the hot water doesn’t give up halfway through your shower, and – this might sound weird – but the beds hit that sweet spot between firm and soft that lets you actually sleep through the night. The rooms aren’t huge, but they’re thoughtfully laid out so your suitcase isn’t constantly in your way. Plus, you’re close enough to walk to 28 Mall if you need familiar chain stores, but far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t be dealing with crowds every time you step outside. The neighborhood has these great little bakeries where you can grab fresh bread in the morning, and honestly, the smell of baking bread drifting up from the street is better than any alarm clock. I’d say the only minor thing is that if you’re someone who needs to be right in the thick of Old City action, you’ll want to factor in taxi time – though the metro connection isn’t bad once you get the hang of it.

  Toorana was the best as she was courteous to book us again at a discounted price…
  Beds were comfortable and location was superb and adjacent to Nizami Street and old city

  The hotel also didn't provide extra water bottles and we had to purchase from external store…
  There was no lift and in case you have health issues please request them for room at ground floor..
  Breakfast is super small…. they make omelet on your demand but remember to ask "chuchu" instead of omelet

  The hotel located in a nice neighborhood, just walking distance less than 15 minutes from the Old City. The room was spacious, comfortable and complete with all the necessary facilities and tools. Highly recommended!
