Sure, the décor leans a bit toward that Eastern European “fancy hotel from 2005” vibe with lots of dark wood and burgundy accents, but it’s clean and well-maintained. The staff here really seems to care, which honestly makes up for a lot. When I had trouble with the Wi-Fi (because of course), they didn’t just reset the router and shrug – someone came up and actually fixed it. The neighborhood gets pretty quiet after 9 PM, so if you’re looking for a good night’s sleep, you’ll get it here. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle during the day since it’s a residential area, but there’s usually space if you circle the block once or twice.

What I really appreciate about this place is that it feels authentic to Baku without trying too hard. You’ll hear Azeri families chatting in the hallways, smell proper tea brewing in the breakfast area, and get recommendations from the front desk staff who actually live in the city and know where to find the best dolma that isn’t in some overpriced restaurant near Flame Towers. The 7.6 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s solid, comfortable, and way better value than the international chains closer to downtown. If you’re the type of traveler who’d rather spend your money on experiences than fancy hotel amenities you’ll barely use, Piano Suites delivers exactly what you need. Plus, there’s something charming about falling asleep to the distant sound of the Caspian Sea and waking up in a neighborhood where real people actually live.
