You know what surprised me most about Park Megafun? The name had me expecting some gaudy theme park hotel, but honestly, this place is way more sophisticated than that. Tucked away on Afiyəddin Cəlilov street in central Baku, it’s got this sleek modern vibe that actually works really well. I mean, the entrance alone – all marble and subtle lighting – makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into something special without trying too hard to impress you.

The location is pretty perfect if you ask me. You’re close enough to the Old City that you can walk there in about fifteen minutes (though honestly, with Baku’s wind, you might want to grab a taxi some days), but far enough away that you’re not dealing with tourist crowds right outside your window. The Flame Towers are visible from some of the upper floors, which is kind of amazing at night when they’re doing their LED light show thing. What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets after about 10 PM – the street isn’t one of those main thoroughfares that stays busy all night, so you can actually sleep with the windows cracked open if you want some fresh air.

The staff really knows their stuff too, especially at the front desk. They helped me figure out the whole Baku Card situation and gave me actual useful directions (not just “turn left at the big building” nonsense). The rooms are spacious – I had one of the standard doubles and could easily fit my oversized suitcase plus move around comfortably. The bathroom was surprisingly luxurious with this rainfall shower that actually had decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve traveled much in this region, you know that’s not always a given. The breakfast spread was solid – lots of local options mixed with international stuff, and the tea service was on point (they know how to do tea properly here). Only minor complaint would be that the Wi-Fi gets a bit spotty during peak hours, but it’s reliable enough for most needs. With an 8.8 rating and five-star designation, Park Megafun delivers on its promises without the pretentious attitude you sometimes get at high-end places. It’s the kind of hotel where you feel comfortable whether you’re heading out to explore Baku’s UNESCO sites or just need a solid base for business meetings.
