I mean, check-in was smooth (they had my room ready even though I arrived early), but it was the little things – like how they remembered I’d asked about good walking routes and left a hand-drawn map at the front desk the next morning. The rooms are what you’d call thoughtfully designed rather than trying-too-hard modern. Everything works properly, which sounds basic but honestly isn’t always a given. The shower pressure is excellent – something my travel-weary back definitely appreciated – and the beds are that perfect firmness where you don’t sink in like quicksand but you’re not sleeping on a board either.

You know what really sets this place apart though? The breakfast setup actually feels like they put thought into it rather than just throwing out the usual continental spread. Fresh local breads, proper tea service, and they make this incredible shakshuka-style egg dish that I kept going back for. The dining area has these big windows that look out onto the park area, and in the mornings it gets this gorgeous light that makes you want to linger over coffee. The whole vibe is relaxed but efficient – staff are around when you need them but they’re not hovering. Parking was surprisingly easy too, which anyone who’s driven in Baku will appreciate. The 9.7 rating honestly makes sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just works well together. If you’re the type of traveler who values substance over show, and you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere that locals might actually recommend rather than just another international chain, this is your spot.
