You know, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Manor Luxury Hotel on Shamil Kamilov Street – it’s tucked into this quieter residential area that honestly feels more authentic than some of the flashier hotel districts in Baku. The building itself has this solid, understated elegance that grows on you. I mean, it’s not going to blow you away with dramatic architecture, but there’s something refreshing about a place that doesn’t try too hard. The lobby has these warm wood tones and actually comfortable seating (not those stiff designer chairs that look better than they feel), and check-in was surprisingly smooth – the staff genuinely seemed to know what they were doing rather than just going through motions.

What really struck me was how the hotel sits in relation to the rest of Baku. You’re far enough from the main tourist chaos around the Old City that you can actually get some sleep, but close enough that a quick taxi ride gets you anywhere you need to go. The neighborhood has this lived-in feel – there’s a little bakery just down the street where locals grab their morning bread, and you’ll hear actual Azerbaijani conversations on the sidewalks instead of just tourist chatter. The rooms themselves are well, solid. Nothing revolutionary, but the beds are properly comfortable, the bathrooms have decent water pressure (which isn’t always a given in this part of the world), and the air conditioning actually works when you need it. I appreciated the little touches – like curtains that actually block out light and enough outlets near the bed for your devices.

Honestly, this feels like a hotel that knows exactly what it is. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Baku, and with a 7.5 rating, it’s clearly not perfect, but there’s something to be said for consistency and genuine comfort. The breakfast spread was better than I expected – proper local cheese and fresh bread alongside the usual international options, and the coffee was actually drinkable. If you’re the type of traveler who values being in a real neighborhood over being steps from major attractions, and you want reliable comfort without paying luxury prices, Manor Luxury delivers on that promise. Plus, parking was straightforward, which anyone who’s driven in Baku will tell you is worth mentioning.

  Amazing staff. Everyone is looking for your comfort the hotel staff is very cooperative as well as the security staff are very helpful. Couldn't be nicer. Room was enormous and spotlessly clean. Good location for those looking for proximity to airport.

  The building itself was very picturesque with lovely courtyards and garden. I think we also got upgraded room because it was massive one-bedroom apartment with 2 balconies, living room with some office space. Bathroom was nice with amazing water pressure. Some shower gel and shampoo were provided too. Also very late check in was allowed and stuff helped with a luggage since there’s no elevator.
  
  What could be improved: Bedding was disaster- no cover for a duvet and the duvet itself covered with yellow stains… so you might guess how we felt about it. End up sleeping covered with bath robes that felt clean. Blanket full of stains and cigarette holes in it. Tiny pillow with hardly any filling and very uncomfortable bed feeling like a bouncy castle. We only stayed there for half a day so didn’t bother making drama about it but it was pretty yuck to sleep like this.
