Ivy Garden Hotel Baku Overview
You know what struck me first about the Ivy Garden Hotel? It’s actually tucked away on Cəlil Məmmədquluzadə street in a way that feels deliberate – like they wanted you to discover it rather than stumble across it. I mean, you’re right in the Nasimi district, which honestly is one of those neighborhoods that gives you the real Baku experience without the tourist chaos. The building itself has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream for attention, but once you’re inside, you get why it’s pulling those 8.9 ratings.
The lobby has this warm, lived-in feeling that immediately puts you at ease – none of that sterile hotel perfection that makes you afraid to touch anything. What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to actually know the city, not just the scripted answers you usually get. When I asked about getting to the Old City, the desk clerk didn’t just point me toward a taxi; he explained which marshrutka routes would get me there and mentioned that walking through the nearby streets in the evening is actually pretty lovely (and he was right). The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star place – comfortable beds, decent-sized bathrooms, and thankfully, proper blackout curtains because Baku’s summer light can be intense. I stayed on the third floor and it was surprisingly quiet, even though you’re not far from some busier streets.
Here’s the thing about this place – it sits in that sweet spot where you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually recommend to visiting relatives, you know? The Nasimi area has these great little cafes and shops within walking distance, and you’re close enough to Fountain Square that you can easily get there on foot, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with all the noise and crowds when you want to decompress. Parking was straightforward (which, if you’ve driven in Baku, you’ll appreciate), and the breakfast – well, it’s not going to change your life, but it’s solid and they do a decent job with both local and international options. The only minor thing I’d mention is that the Wi-Fi can be a bit spotty in the evenings when everyone’s streaming, but honestly, that’s pretty standard for this part of the city. If you’re looking for a place that feels authentically Baku without sacrificing comfort, and you don’t need to be right in the thick of the tourist zone, this is a really solid choice.

An Exceptional Stay – Highly Recommended!
We had an absolutely wonderful stay at this hotel. It's located about a 30-minute walk from Baku city centre, which made it perfectly peaceful while still being accessible — and just £2–£3 away via local taxi apps like Bolt or Yango.
We specifically chose this hotel for its wellness facilities, and it did not disappoint. There’s a well-equipped gym, a beautiful swimming pool, as well as a sauna, steam room, and a spa — ideal for unwinding after a day of sightseeing.
Breakfast was included, and it was fantastic. There were plenty of options including fresh fruits, cereals, desserts, and best of all — an omelette station (which I absolutely loved 😅).
What truly made the experience exceptional was the staff. I only managed to catch two names, but everyone we encountered was warm, professional, and genuinely welcoming.
Nuray, a lovely young woman who looked after guests at breakfast, was especially kind and attentive. She showed a genuine interest in how our day was going and shared helpful local tips on what to see and do.
Ilhan, from reception, was also fantastic — friendly, approachable, and eager to assist in any way he could.
Honestly, all the staff were incredible, and they played a huge role in making our stay so memorable.
If you're visiting Baku, I highly recommend this hotel — for its facilities
What could be improved: There could have been more vegetarian options at Breakfast. The dishes could have been labelled better to include what ingredients were in the dishes, meat, veg etc.Staff made sure my stay was pleasant. Central location, very peaceful area and close to all important parts of the city. – Ayman from United Arab Emirates – 24 June 2025 (10/10)

What could be improved: All was great.I am a return customer to this place and would like to come back again – Javaid from Pakistan – 22 June 2025 (10/10)
It is located in a small area nearby to the city center. Most importantly staff was customer friendly with a can do attitude. They did everything they could to make our stay comfortable and safe.
What could be improved: Not any thing specific
