İstanbul Hotel, Tourism & Restaurant Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard “İstanbul Hotel” in Baku, I was a bit confused, but this place actually makes perfect sense once you’re there. It’s tucked right behind the Central Oil Workers Hospital on Həsən Salmani, which sounds weird for a hotel location until you realize how perfectly central that puts you. I mean, you’re literally in the heart of everything without being stuck in tourist chaos.
The 5-star rating isn’t just marketing fluff here – they’ve actually earned it. Walking in, there’s this immediate sense that someone really thought about the details. The lobby has this warm, sophisticated vibe that manages to feel both upscale and genuinely welcoming, not like those sterile chain hotels where you feel like you’re bothering the staff. Speaking of staff, honestly, they’re incredible. I watched them handle everything from late-night room service requests to helping guests navigate Baku’s somewhat… creative… address system with genuine patience. The restaurant side of things is where this place really shines though – and I’m not just saying that because it’s in the name. They serve this amazing fusion that somehow captures both Turkish influences (hence the İstanbul connection, I guess) and proper Azerbaijani flavors. The morning spread is ridiculous in the best way possible.
What really sold me on this place, though, is how it works for actual travel, you know? Parking isn’t a nightmare – which if you’ve driven in Baku, you’ll appreciate. The rooms are genuinely quiet despite being so central, and the beds are the kind where you actually sleep instead of just lying there thinking about your back. The bathrooms have proper water pressure, which sounds basic but you’d be surprised how often that’s not a given. You’re also perfectly positioned to walk to most of the Old City attractions, but far enough from the main tourist strips that you’re not dealing with crowds every time you leave. That 9.7 rating makes total sense when you add it all up – it’s not just one thing they do well, it’s that they seem to have figured out all the little things that make or break a stay. I’d definitely go back, and honestly, I’ve already recommended it to three different people planning Baku trips.

The all-inclusive system is fantastic. The free transfer service is a great bonus. We were welcomed smoothly without any issues.
The fact that the restaurant turns into a pub and disco after 7 PM is just perfect – it adds a fun and lively vibe to the evenings.
Highly recommended!
