Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first pulled up to Hasanovs Villa in Buzovna – the address sounds more complicated than it actually is, but once you find Haji Iskender street, you’re basically there. It’s this lovely residential area about 20 minutes northeast of central Baku, and what struck me immediately was how quiet it felt compared to the city center. You know that feeling when you step out of a car and can actually hear birds instead of traffic? That’s Buzovna.

The villa itself has this really authentic Azerbaijani charm that you don’t get at the big chain hotels downtown. I mean, it’s not trying to be some glossy international property – it feels more like staying at a well-to-do relative’s house, if that makes sense. The rooms are genuinely comfortable (and honestly, after staying at a few places around Baku, comfortable beds aren’t always a given), and there’s this attention to local details that I appreciated. The breakfast spread actually includes proper Azerbaijani items alongside the usual suspects, which was a nice touch. The staff seemed to really know the area too – when I asked about getting to Yanar Dag, they didn’t just point me toward a tour company but gave me actual directions and timing advice.

What really sold me on this place was the setting, though. Buzovna sits right along the Caspian coastline, and you’re literally a five-minute walk from the water. It’s not exactly a resort beach situation – more like a local coastal area where families come to relax – but there’s something really peaceful about having that option. The Khazar region gets this lovely breeze in the evenings, especially during summer, and you can actually sit outside without feeling like you’re melting. Parking was never an issue either, which anyone who’s driven in Baku will tell you is worth mentioning. The 8.6 rating makes total sense to me because while it’s not luxury in the marble-lobby sense, it delivers on the things that actually matter when you’re traveling. The place feels genuine, the location gives you easy access to both Baku proper and the more natural attractions to the north, and – this might sound small but it matters – the WiFi actually works consistently. I’d definitely come back, especially if I wanted a base for exploring the Absheron Peninsula without dealing with city center noise and prices.

  I stayed at the Hasanovs villa for one night with my kids because we had a transfer flight.
  The ride from the airport was short (about 15 minutes) and very comfortable.
  The house and the gardens are very beautiful. The children enjoyed playing with cats, learning how pomegranates grow, and looking at chickens and fish.
  The environment is calm. The room and bathroom were very clean, and the bedding was comfortable. We jad a view to the garden from our room. The host provided us with a delicious dinner.

  The location is great. It is near the airport about 17 min driving. Wonderful garden inside the complex. Everything is clean. There is wi fi. Big rooms good equipped , clean and modern.
