Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Eleven Hotel Baku on Islam Safarli Street – the name sounds a bit generic, you know? But this place actually surprised me in the best way. It’s tucked into the Yasamal district, which I mean, isn’t exactly where tourists usually end up, but that’s sort of the point. You’re staying where actual Baku residents live and work, not in some sterile hotel zone.

The building itself has this clean, modern vibe without trying too hard to be flashy. Check-in was smooth (they speak decent English, which honestly can be hit or miss in this part of town), and the lobby has this warm lighting that makes everything feel more expensive than it probably is. What really got me though was stepping into the room – everything’s thoughtfully designed without being over the top. The beds are actually comfortable, not just pretty, and there’s proper blackout curtains which saved my life dealing with those long summer days when the sun’s still blazing at 9 PM. The bathroom’s compact but well-planned, with good water pressure and towels that don’t feel like sandpaper.

Here’s what I really appreciated: the staff genuinely seems to care about helping you figure out Baku. They’ll call taxis for you (way better than trying to hail one yourself), give you actual directions to places instead of just pointing vaguely, and – this was clutch – they helped me navigate getting to the Old City without getting completely lost in those winding streets. The neighborhood itself is pretty quiet, especially compared to the chaos around Fountain Square, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. There’s a decent little café right around the corner where locals grab breakfast, and honestly, their tea is better than what you’ll get at most hotels. The metro’s walkable if you don’t mind a 10-minute stroll, though I usually just took taxis since they’re so cheap here anyway.

You know what really sets this place apart? It’s got that sweet spot pricing where you’re not breaking the bank, but you’re also not wondering if the sheets are clean. The WiFi actually works throughout the building (I was working remotely part of my stay), and the rooms stay surprisingly quiet even when there’s street activity below. Sure, it’s not going to wow you with a rooftop pool or fancy spa treatments, but that 8.6 rating makes total sense – it’s just solid, reliable hospitality without any nasty surprises. If you’re the type who wants to experience Baku like a person who actually lives there, rather than bouncing between tourist traps, this is your spot.

  I booked this hotel following reviews. The staff Dawood , Safar and Huma are extremely helpful and friendly. Not only did I feel special but my entire stay was made comfortable by these people.
  If looking for a hotel true value for money, have a set budget then Eleven hotel. The location is super prime.
  
  What could be improved: Breakfast was of little less quality as compared to other facilities. Although the kitchen lady is really nice.

  i loved everything about this hotel! clean, new and modern design. the staffs are always there to help you, if you want to ask for recommendations around the area or just to chat etc. especially thanks to the male staff (forgot to ask his name) and person with red hair. also great location with many restaurants and cafes near by, and walkable everywhere.
  
  What could be improved: not much but there is no hair conditioner, they only give you shampoo and body soap. that’s about it.
