Honestly, I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to the Auroom Hotel on Allahyar Nasibov street – I mean, it’s tucked into this quiet residential stretch in Nasimi district that most tourists probably walk right past. But you know what? Sometimes the best finds are the ones hiding in plain sight.

The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense that someone actually cared about every single detail here. The lobby has this warm, modern vibe that doesn’t try too hard – sort of sophisticated without being stuffy, if that makes sense. What really got me though was how the staff genuinely seemed happy to see guests walk through the door. Not that forced hospitality thing you get at chain hotels, but actual warmth. The front desk guy (wish I remembered his name) spent like ten minutes sketching out a little map of the neighborhood for me, pointing out this amazing bakery two blocks down that I never would’ve found otherwise.

The rooms are honestly impressive – and I’m usually pretty picky about hotels. Everything feels fresh and thoughtfully designed, with these little touches that show someone was actually thinking about what travelers need. The bathroom alone probably has better lighting than my apartment back home. But here’s what I really appreciated: the place is quiet. Like, properly quiet. You’d think being on a residential street might mean dealing with early morning traffic or construction noise, but the windows must be seriously well-insulated because I slept better here than I have in months. The AC actually works without sounding like a jet engine, which honestly should be standard but somehow never is.

Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk from all the main Baku action – the Old City, the Flame Towers, that whole tourist corridor along the Caspian. But staying here means you get to see how actual Bakuvians live. There’s this little grocery store literally next door where the owner’s grandmother sits outside every evening (she makes incredible tea if you’re brave enough to try your broken Azerbaijani), and the neighborhood has this genuine, lived-in feeling that you miss when you’re stuck in the hotel district downtown. Plus – and this matters if you’re planning to explore – getting a taxi from here is super easy, and drivers actually know exactly where to find you.

I’ll be honest, the 9.8 rating seemed almost too good to be true when I booked, but after staying here? It actually makes sense. This isn’t the kind of place that wows you with flashy amenities or over-the-top service. Instead, it’s just really, really good at being a hotel – comfortable beds, reliable everything, staff who know their stuff, and that rare quality of making you feel like you’ve discovered something special rather than just booked another room. If you’re the type who’d rather spend money on experiences than overpriced hotel restaurants and tourist trap locations, this is absolutely where you want to be in Baku.

  Fantastic hotel. Very friendly people, especially Elcin who did everything to help me, but everyone was very kindly. When I arrived I found a bottle of wine in my room, the room was big and very comfortable. In front of the hotel there is the hotel restaurant which is also very good.

  The staff was very friendly and accommodating. They really took good care of me, right from offering me a room early (I arrived a lot earlier than check in time!), offering me breakfast despite my early arrival, assigning me a very comfortable room, arranging for a cab and so on. They were warm and welcoming and they made my stay extremely pleasant. A big Spasiba to all of them!
