You know what caught me off guard about Ekm Hotel? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try too hard to impress you upfront, but somehow ends up being exactly what you need. I mean, when you first walk up to 41 Suleyman Dadashov Street, it looks pretty standard from the outside – just another mid-rise building in Yasamal district. But honestly, that’s kind of the point. This isn’t some flashy tourist trap; it’s where people who actually know Baku choose to stay.

The location is what really makes this place work. Yasamal is this perfectly practical neighborhood that puts you close to everything without the chaos of Old City crowds. You’re maybe a 15-minute taxi ride to the Flame Towers (and trust me, the view is better from a distance anyway), but you can also just walk around the corner for proper Azerbaijani breakfast at places where locals actually eat. The staff seemed genuinely surprised when I knew a few words in Azerbaijani – they’re clearly used to hosting business travelers and regional visitors, not just tourists following guidebooks. That 8.3 rating makes total sense once you realize this isn’t trying to be a luxury experience; it’s trying to be a reliable one, and it delivers on that promise.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Suleyman Dadashov Street has some traffic during the day, but it’s not like staying near Nizami Street where you hear everything until 2 AM. The rooms are simple but thoughtfully laid out – actually, the bathroom was bigger than I expected, which sounds minor until you’re trying to get ready for a business meeting or a long day of sightseeing. The air conditioning works properly (crucial in Baku summers), and the Wi-Fi was solid throughout the building. I stayed during what locals call the shoulder season in late spring, and check-in was smooth, though I imagine it gets busier when the oil conference crowds hit town. One small thing – the elevator is a bit slow, but honestly, it gave me time to practice my Russian with other guests. For a 3-star place, Ekm Hotel gets the fundamentals right and doesn’t waste your time with unnecessary frills. If you’re looking for Instagram moments, maybe look elsewhere. If you want a place that locals would recommend to their visiting relatives, this is it.

  The guys immediately gave me some tea. The hotel has an elevator. There is a kitchen, a stove, and everything you need to cook. It is about 10 minutes away from Elmler Akademiyası Metro Station. The room has air conditioning. The bed is comfortable and large

  Very good place.
  Friendly and polite staff.
  Quiet and safe neighborhood.
  5 mins away a Supermarket,
  15 mins to Elmliar Akademiasi subway station, 30 mins to The old city, on foot.
  Rooms were clean. Ask to get the room 41 it has a view on Flame towers. For its price it's like 5 star hotel. There is an elevator is on the hotel
  Also, they serve breakfast on their traditional way. It's full of energy till lunch time.
  Don't make a deal with street taxi drivers. Bolt app works perfectly there.

  Very good location which is in a quiet lane with beautiful window view. 5 minute's walk to the road and bus station, 15 minute's walk to the subway.

  Big bedroom equipped with facilities like a kettle, bathrobes, slippers, and toiletries. Nice location in a quiet neighbourhood and close to the city center, restaurants, and supermarkets. The breakfast was included, and it was very tasty. The staff was kind and accommodating, even though they didn't speak much English.
  
  What could be improved: The bedroom was not very clean (especially inside the drawers and the bathroom). The bathroom could be improved: it had mold on the walls, and it was dark inside.
