Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to the Boulevard Rigs Boutique Hotel on Üzeyir Hacıbəyli street, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place in Sabayil. But you know what? Sometimes the unassuming spots surprise you the most. The building has this understated charm that grows on you, and the location is actually pretty smart if you know Baku at all. You’re right in the heart of things without the tourist trap pricing of some of the flashier hotels closer to the Flame Towers.

What I really appreciated was how the staff seemed to get that travelers need real information, not just scripted responses. The front desk guy (I think his name was Elvin) actually drew me a little map showing which metro stops to avoid during rush hour and where to find decent coffee that wouldn’t cost me half my daily budget. The rooms themselves are clean and functional – I mean, don’t expect luxury, but the AC works reliably (crucial in Baku summers), and the wifi is solid enough for video calls back home. The shower pressure is surprisingly good for this part of the city, which honestly made my mornings so much better. One small thing that bugged me initially was some street noise in the early morning, but you adapt pretty quickly, and it’s kind of nice being connected to the city’s rhythm rather than isolated in some sterile tower.

The neighborhood is where this place really shines though. You’ve got authentic local spots within walking distance – there’s this incredible doner place about three blocks down that the hotel staff recommended, and the produce market on weekends is absolutely worth experiencing. Plus, you’re close enough to the old city that you can walk there in fifteen minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with cruise ship crowds every time you leave the hotel. I’d say the 7.4 rating is pretty fair – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what matters: location, cleanliness, and staff who actually seem to care about helping you navigate the city. For the price point, especially if you’re planning to spend most of your time exploring rather than lounging in your room, Boulevard Rigs does the job well.

  The breakfast very was nice. Staff is very helpfull. They tried to help in every way. The location is in the city center. There is a 24-hour pharmacy, supermarket, and restaurant nearby. The price is quite reasonable according to hotel standards.

  staff are so nice and helpful. If you have any requests or problems, they take care of you immediately. When you ask for things like towels, they bring them right away. housekeeper lady was so nice. hotel is very central. When you leave the hotel and walk straight ahead, there is a beautiful library. (Baku book centers are amazing.) Then, in 10 minutes you reach the old city.
  
  What could be improved: There was a smell in the toilet, there was no hot water (the water was not getting hot), the bed was old. It's time to renew the furniture in the room. Breakfast served in a family atmosphere.

  Nice, central, clean and very organised! I loved the reception, I liked the breakfast and the rooms are very big and spacious. I appreciated the most how everything is located near the hotel – stores, restaurants and monuments.
