Honestly, when I first saw “Apartment in the city center!” I thought it was just another generic listing with an overly enthusiastic name, but this place on 28 May Street actually lives up to the excitement. You’re literally in the heart of Nasimi district – and I mean *the* heart – where you can walk to Fountain Square in about ten minutes and stumble upon those little tea houses that locals actually frequent. The building itself has that solid Soviet-era construction (you know, the kind where you don’t hear your neighbors through paper-thin walls), but it’s been updated in all the right ways without losing that authentic Baku character.

What really struck me was how the owner clearly gets what travelers need. The apartment feels like someone’s actual home, not a sterile rental – there’s proper lighting for reading, decent water pressure (which, let’s be honest, can be hit or miss in older Baku buildings), and the kitchen is stocked with basics so you’re not scrambling to find salt at midnight. The windows face away from the main street traffic, which means you get natural light without the constant hum of marshrutkas and taxis that never seems to stop in this part of town. Actually, that’s something worth mentioning – Baku’s city center can get pretty lively, especially during summer evenings when everyone’s out walking, but this spot manages to be central without being chaotic.

The location is what makes this place special though. You’re on 28 May Street, which connects you to everything but doesn’t feel touristy – there’s a small bakery two blocks down that opens at 6 AM and makes these incredible cheese-filled pastries, and you’ll find yourself walking past the same neighborhood cats every morning (they’re friendly). It’s close enough to the Old City that you can wander over for dinner without planning your whole day around transportation, but far enough that you’re not paying Old City prices for everything. The metro station is a reasonable walk, parking isn’t impossible if you’re driving, and honestly, the whole area just feels lived-in rather than designed for tourists. I mean, you’ll definitely encounter other visitors, but you’re also sharing the streets with people heading to work or picking up groceries, which gives you a much better sense of what Baku actually feels like day-to-day.

  Ausgezeichnete Lage im Stadtzentrum. In der Nähe gibt es viele Geschäfte, Einkaufszentren, Cafés und Restaurants. Nicht weit vom Küstenpark entfernt. Wir sind zu Fuß in die Altstadt gelangt. Die Wohnung ist sehr gemütlich. Habe mich sehr wohl gefühlt!

  Great location in the city center. Very nice, bright, cozy apartment. My wife and I felt comfortable in the apartment. There were no shortcomings. Special thanks to Turan for the warm welcome. He met us at the airport, checked us in on time. We were happy with the choice of housing!
