You know what caught me off guard about this place? Walking up to what looks like a regular residential building on Ahad Yagubov street and realizing you’re about to have one of the best stays in Baku. I mean, from the outside it’s just this clean, modern building in Sabayil – but once you’re inside this 4-bedroom apartment, it honestly feels like you’ve got your own little seaside retreat.

The thing about staying here is you’re literally living like a local, but with all the space you never get in a hotel room. Four bedrooms spread across three floors means everyone in your group actually gets privacy (which, let’s be real, is pretty rare when you’re traveling together). The kitchen is properly equipped too – not just some mini-fridge situation – so we ended up cooking a few meals with stuff from the nearby markets instead of eating out every night. The views toward the Caspian are what really sold me though. You can actually hear the water from some of the windows, especially in the early morning when the city’s still quiet.

What I really appreciated was how the owner clearly knows the area – they left these handwritten notes about which marshrutka routes to take, where to grab the best plov nearby (there’s this spot two blocks down that doesn’t even have a sign, but locals line up there around lunchtime). The Sabayil location is actually perfect if you want to feel connected to real Baku life while still being close to all the touristy stuff. Old City is maybe a 15-minute walk, but you’re far enough away that you’re not dealing with crowds when you just want to chill. Plus, parking was surprisingly easy – the building has its own courtyard area, which saved us from the usual Baku parking headache. Check-in was smooth too, though definitely coordinate arrival times ahead of time since it’s not like a hotel front desk situation. Honestly, for families or groups who want space to spread out and don’t need daily housekeeping, this beats most hotels in the city hands down.
