The bathrooms are spotless, and the water pressure is consistent, which anyone who’s traveled around the Caspian region will tell you isn’t always a given. I stayed on the third floor and could barely hear any street noise, even though Hasan Salmani connects to some busier areas. The family running this place clearly knows what actual travelers need versus what looks good in photos.

Here’s the thing that sold me completely – the location is actually perfect if you want to experience Baku like a local rather than just hitting the tourist spots. You’re a five-minute walk from the old city walls, but you’re also close enough to those great little bakeries and tea houses that locals frequent on Nizami Street. The hotel staff will point you toward places that aren’t in guidebooks, and they’re genuinely excited to share their city with you. I ended up having some of my best meals based on their recommendations. The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you stay here – it’s not flashy or overly fancy, but everything just works the way it should. Check-in was smooth, the WiFi actually reaches every corner of the building, and when I needed to extend my stay by a day, they sorted it out without any drama. It’s the kind of place you’d book again without hesitation, and probably end up recommending to friends who are planning their own Azerbaijan adventure.
