I was expecting just another apartment rental, but this two-bedroom spot on Zarifa Aliyeva actually feels like someone put real thought into making it work for travelers. The building itself is pretty solid – not flashy, but you can tell it’s well-maintained, which honestly matters more when you’re staying somewhere for more than a couple nights.

The location is where this place really shines, though they don’t make a huge deal about it in the marketing. You’re right in Sabayil, which means you can walk to the Old City in about fifteen minutes if you don’t mind a little stroll, or catch one of those marshrutkas that locals use – way cheaper than taxis and you’ll feel like you’re actually experiencing Baku instead of just passing through it. There’s this little bakery around the corner that opens crazy early (I’m talking 6 AM) and the smell of fresh bread sort of drifts up in the mornings, which is… well, it’s a nice way to wake up. The Caspian waterfront is close enough that you can hear the waves on quiet evenings, but far enough that you’re not dealing with all the weekend crowds.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve set up the space inside – it actually feels like an apartment, not a hotel room with a kitchenette shoved in the corner. The kitchen has proper pots and pans (not those flimsy things you usually get), and there’s enough counter space to actually cook if you pick up ingredients from the Green Bazaar. The bedrooms are separated well enough that you won’t wake up your travel companion if you’re on different schedules, and honestly, the beds are more comfortable than I expected. The Wi-Fi is solid too – I was working remotely part of the time and never had issues with video calls, even during what seemed like peak hours. One small thing though – the hot water takes a minute to kick in, so don’t panic if it’s cold at first. Just very typical for this part of the city, nothing to worry about. The whole Centric Hotel management seems to know what they’re doing; check-in was smooth and they actually gave useful recommendations instead of just handing over tourist brochures. If you’re planning to stay during Novruz or summer festival season, book early because places like this fill up fast – locals know a good setup when they see one.

  What could be improved: старая квартира с обшарпанным темным подъездом, половина лампочек не горит, разбитые плафоны, плесень в ванной (сильная), сломана кнопка унитаза, грязный диван в гостиной. явно требуется ремонт

  Очень хорошее расположение. Всё самое интересное в шаговой доступности. Большой телевизор множеством каналов. Есть все, что нужно для проживания. Балкон со столиком с видом на море.
