Vitrage Hotel Baku Overview

You know what struck me first about the Vitrage Hotel? The name actually makes sense when you walk up to it – there’s all this beautiful glasswork that catches the light just right, especially in the late afternoon when the Caspian sun hits it at that perfect angle. It sits on Islam Safarli Street in the Nasimi district, which honestly is one of those spots where you feel like you’re in the real Baku, not just the touristy Old City everyone talks about.

The thing is, this place gets the balance right between being nice enough (it’s a solid 4-star, and that 8.1 rating feels about right) without trying to be something it’s not. I mean, you’re not going to confuse it with the Flame Towers hotels, but that’s actually refreshing. The lobby has this modern feel that doesn’t scream “look how fancy we are,” and the staff – well, they seem to actually know the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to Fountain Square, the front desk guy didn’t just point me toward the metro; he mentioned which exit to use and warned me about the construction on Nizami Street that was backing up traffic. Those kinds of details matter when you’re trying to figure out a city.

The rooms are what you’d expect from a good 4-star – clean, comfortable beds, decent bathrooms with proper water pressure (always a question mark in Baku, to be honest). What I appreciated was the soundproofing actually works. Nasimi can get a bit lively in the evenings, especially on weekends when locals are out and about, but inside you hardly notice. The air conditioning doesn’t sound like a jet engine either, which is more than I can say for some places I’ve stayed in this city. And here’s a small thing that made me happy – the WiFi actually reaches the corners of the room. I know that sounds basic, but you’d be surprised how many hotels get that wrong.

Location-wise, you’re in a sweet spot for exploring beyond the obvious tourist stuff. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that does incredible qutab in the mornings – locals line up for it, which is always a good sign. The Sahil metro station is maybe a 10-minute walk, so getting to the Old City or the shopping areas is pretty straightforward. Plus, if you want to walk along the Boulevard by the Caspian, it’s close enough that you won’t need a taxi but far enough that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds right outside your window.

I guess what I’m saying is this: if you want something reliable and well-located without paying Flame Towers prices, the Vitrage delivers. It’s not going to wow you with over-the-top luxury, but it’ll give you a comfortable base to actually experience Baku from. Sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

Reviews of Vitrage Hotel Baku

  • Overall good place for the money. Amenities and breakfast should be upgraded. – Matthew from United States – 30 June 2025 (5/10)

Breakfast was so-so. The location was great

What could be improved: Get the Internet fixed. Make breakfast better in terms of what you offer and be consistent, not make do with what is available.

  • Exceptional – Oliver from Austria – 14 June 2025 (10/10)

Location was central yet quite. I'm a light sleeper, and I slept like a baby not something I usually say when I travel.

  • One of the best hotel choices I made. – Rain from Czech Republic – 2 June 2025 (10/10)

Good location choice from the hotel. We never wasted any time while going to our desired destinations. Staff talks 3-4 languages so it was easy to communicate and they always aided us with whatever we needed during or stay. Cleanliness of a room is what I look for the most while traveling and this hotel surely met my expectations. Kudos to the cleaning staff for that. And I can't even get started about the food because of how extravagant it was. Mixed with the tasty food and chill atmosphere of the restaurant even after finishing my food I almost got too comfortable to sit until the end of breakfast time. Can't wait to be back here again.

  • Enjoyed our stay. Will definitely come back – Anonymous from Italy – 2 June 2025 (10/10)

Friendly staff that are always ready to help with whatever you need, glisteningly clean rooms clearly showing that cleaning staff are serious about their job, nice location for the hotel. It's located in a nice calm spot so there's noise and such but still in the center of the city so you can walk pretty much everywhere you want to go. Food was delicious and restaurant of the hotel had a very nice relaxing atmosphere.

What could be improved: Nothing caught my attention in that matter

  • Disappointing – Tuğba from Turkey – 1 May 2025 (4/10)

Konumu çok iyiydi ve çalışanlar nazik, güler yüzlüydü, yardımcı olmaya çalışıyorlar. Kahvaltı damak zevkimize tam olarak hitap etmese de böyle bir otele göre fena sayılmaz.

What could be improved: Eşyalar ve odalar eski, yıpranmış.

  • Exceptional – Baran from Russia – 27 February 2025 (10/10)

  • Exceptional – Fyodor from Russia – 24 February 2025 (10/10)

We spent a wonderful few days at this hotel with friends. The rooms are cozy and clean, everything is thought out to the smallest detail. The staff is very friendly and always ready to help with anything we needed. The breakfast was delicious and varied, especially the fresh local products. The location is perfect: a quiet area, but still very close to the city center. The hotel has a beautiful garden where we could relax and unwind. We will definitely come back, and we highly recommend this place!

  • Beautiful place, too friendly staff to a bothering point – Yusra from Saudi Arabia – 20 August 2024 (8/10)

The art and choice of colors in there, the design and the location.

What could be improved: The bathrooms were a bit smelly. You have to ask about services, its not offered
