VIP Apartment in Buta Palace Overview
Look, I’ve stayed in my fair share of places in Baku, and this VIP Apartment in Buta Palace honestly surprised me in the best way. First thing you notice when you pull up to 17 Dilarə Əliyeva Street is that you’re right in the heart of Yasamal – I mean, this isn’t some tourist trap area, it’s where actual Bakuvians live and work. The building itself has this sort of understated elegance that feels more authentic than those flashy hotels near the Flame Towers, you know? When I walked into the apartment, the space just felt… well, lived-in but luxurious. Not sterile like most hotel rooms, but actually comfortable with these thoughtful touches that made me think someone who travels a lot designed this place.
What really got me was how quiet it stays at night, even though you’re literally surrounded by the city’s energy. During the day, you can hear the gentle hum of Baku life – people heading to work, the occasional call to prayer from nearby mosques, street vendors setting up – but come evening, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The apartment itself is spacious enough that I didn’t feel like I was living out of a suitcase, and honestly, the kitchen situation is better than my own place back home. I actually ended up cooking a few meals there because, well, there’s something nice about making your morning coffee in a real kitchen instead of wrestling with those tiny hotel machines. The bathroom has this rainfall shower that’s actually powerful (you’d be amazed how often that’s not the case), and the bed… look, I’m picky about mattresses, but I slept like a rock every single night.
Here’s the thing about the location that booking sites won’t tell you – you’re about a fifteen-minute walk from both the metro and some of the city’s best local restaurants. There’s this little bakery around the corner that opens at 6 AM and makes these incredible fresh simits that smell like heaven when you’re walking by. The neighborhood has this authentic feel where you’re not surrounded by other tourists all the time, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. Parking can be a bit tricky during busy hours – I’d recommend asking the host about the best spots when you arrive. The 8.5 rating makes total sense to me because while everything works perfectly and the space is genuinely comfortable, it’s not trying to be something it’s not. It’s just a really well-thought-out apartment that happens to be in a great spot, run by people who clearly care about the details. If you’re the type who wants to experience Baku more like a temporary resident than a tourist, this place nails it.

Reviews of VIP Apartment in Buta Palace
Good Apartment but needs to be maintained – Ravneet from India – 16 September 2024 (7/10)
Apartment is super spacious, clean and comes with a well equipped kitchen. Nizami street is 10m walk. There is a small supermarket downstairs and a big one within 500m. View from apartment balcony is great.
What could be improved: Property is not maintained and the owner does not respond to chats or calls. Day1- everything was working fine. Owner quickly resolved plumbing issue in washrooms. Day2,3,4-no hot water and we had to take cold showers. No cooking gas, we had to use induction. Inspite of multiple calls, the owner did not respond. No toiletries (soap, bodywash) in washrooms. No cleaning liquid or cleaning cloth in kitchen.Exceptional – Kenan from Germany – 18 March 2024 (10/10)
