So I stumbled upon Villa Bilgah Boutique Hotel during my third trip to Baku, and honestly? I wish I’d found this place years ago. It’s tucked away in the Bilgah district – you know, that quieter stretch along the Caspian where locals actually go to escape the city heat. The thing about Bilgah is that it’s far enough from downtown Baku’s hustle (maybe 20 minutes by taxi) but close enough that you’re not completely stranded if you want to hit up the old city or catch a show at the Heydar Aliyev Center.

What struck me first walking into Villa Bilgah was how they’ve managed to feel boutique-y without being pretentious about it. The lobby’s got this warm, lived-in elegance – think Persian rugs that actually look like someone’s grandmother picked them out, not some hotel chain buyer. My room faced the Caspian, and I mean, that view… you wake up to this endless stretch of water that changes color throughout the day. Around 6 PM, when the light hits just right, it’s sort of magical. The rooms themselves are spacious enough that I could spread out my work stuff without feeling cramped, and the beds – well, let’s just say I slept better there than I have in months. The bathroom had this rainfall shower that actually delivered decent pressure, which honestly surprised me given some of my experiences with boutique hotels.

The staff here gets it, you know? They’re not hovering, but when I needed restaurant recommendations beyond the usual tourist traps, the front desk guy (I think his name was Rashad) steered me toward this incredible local spot that serves the best dolma I’ve had outside someone’s home kitchen. Villa Bilgah sits right where you can walk to some decent beachfront cafes – nothing fancy, just those places where Baku families go on weekends to drink tea and play backgammon. I actually spent a whole afternoon just wandering that area, and it felt refreshingly real compared to the more touristy parts of the city. The hotel’s restaurant is solid too, especially for breakfast – they do this thing with local honey and fresh bread that I’m still thinking about. Parking was easy, which matters if you’re planning to explore beyond Baku, and the whole place stays pretty quiet even on weekends. I mean, a 9.5 rating doesn’t just happen by accident, right? This is one of those places where the details add up – good Wi-Fi, blackout curtains that actually work, and that subtle attention to comfort that makes you feel like you’re staying somewhere special without trying too hard to prove it.

  Our family had an absolutely magical stay at Villa Bilagh! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and pampered. The villa itself was spacious, beautifully decorated, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. Our kids especially loved the game room with the PS5 and billiards table – it kept them entertained for hours!
  The daily breakfasts were a highlight of our stay. They were served right in our villa and were absolutely delicious. The variety and quality of the food were outstanding. We also enjoyed relaxing by the pool and jacuzzi, which were the perfect size for our family.
  The staff at Villa Bilagh were exceptional, especially Flora. She went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was comfortable and memorable. Her friendly and helpful nature made us feel right at home.
  We can't say enough good things about our experience at Villa Bilagh.
  
  What could be improved: The only slight downside of our stay was the distance from the center of Baku. There are no local shops, but the hotel kindly provides bicycles for easy transportation. We also used apps like Uber and Bolt for our longer journeys.
  Despite this small distance, the tranquility and comfort of the villa more than made up for it. It was the perfect family getaway and We highly recommend Villa Bilagh for those seeking a peaceful retreat while being willing to explore the surroundings using local transportation.
