Sheraton Baku Intourist Overview
Look, I’ve stayed at a lot of hotels in Baku, and the Sheraton Intourist honestly surprised me in the best way possible. You know that feeling when you walk into a lobby and immediately think “okay, they actually get it here”? That’s what happened the moment I stepped off Mikail Useynov Avenue – which, by the way, is perfectly positioned if you want to explore the Old City without dealing with the tourist trap hotels right in the thick of it.
The thing about this place is that it feels authentically Azerbaijani while still giving you all the international hotel comforts you’re probably craving after a long flight into Heydar Aliyev Airport. I mean, the staff actually knows the city – not just the standard tourist spots, but where to get the best plov at 2 AM (trust me, you’ll want this information). My room had this incredible view of the Caspian Sea, and honestly, watching the sunrise over the water while sipping coffee made those early morning jet lag wake-ups almost worth it. The beds are actually comfortable too, which seems obvious but you’d be amazed how many five-star places get this wrong.
What really sold me on the Sheraton was the little stuff that shows they pay attention. The Wi-Fi works everywhere – and I tested it from the pool area, which has become my unofficial hotel quality test. Speaking of the pool, it’s on the upper floors with these panoramic windows that make you feel like you’re swimming in the sky above Baku. The gym is decent if you’re into that sort of thing, though honestly, walking around the Sabayil district will give you plenty of exercise. Check-in was smooth (they had my reservation ready and didn’t try to upsell me on room upgrades), and the concierge actually gave me directions to some local spots that weren’t in my guidebook. You’re close enough to Fountain Square that you can walk there in about fifteen minutes, but far enough away that you’re not dealing with the weekend crowds and noise until you want to. The restaurant serves both international food and local dishes – their dolma is surprisingly good, though I’d still recommend venturing out to try the real deal at least once. All in all, it’s the kind of place where you can base yourself comfortably while exploring Baku without feeling like you’re missing out on the local experience.

Reviews of Sheraton Baku Intourist
Amazing stay in Sheraton Baku intourist – Maha from United Arab Emirates – 20 July 2025 (10/10)
The staff were very friendly, helpful and they gave us useful information throughout the stay, especially Sabira and Nuran. There were two helpful staff also at the time of our check-in (one man and one woman), unfortunately I did not catch their names. The place was very clean and every day cleaning was done on time and very well. The location and view was perfect, near to all the places we needed to go. The breakfast was also amazing, we never got tired of it. The whole place was so peaceful, clean and had a very nice overall vibe. I would definitely like to stay here again.
