I mean, you’re close enough to walk to the Flame Towers (those iconic skyscrapers that light up at night), but you’re not dealing with constant tour groups outside your window.

The hotel itself has this refreshingly unpretentious vibe – it’s a solid 4-star that doesn’t try to be something it’s not. The rooms actually live up to that “sea view” promise, though you’ll want to request a higher floor if possible. From the upper levels, you get these glimpses of the Caspian between the buildings, especially nice during sunset when the water catches that golden light. The staff here genuinely seems to care, which isn’t always a given in Baku hotels. They’ll actually remember your name after the first day, and the front desk folks know their neighborhood – they steered me toward this incredible plov place just two blocks down that I never would’ve found otherwise.

What really sells me on this place is the attention to details that actually matter to travelers. The Wi-Fi works properly (not always guaranteed in this part of town), the shower pressure is decent, and – this might sound small but trust me – they have proper blackout curtains. During summer when the sun’s up until nearly 9 PM, you’ll appreciate that. The breakfast spread isn’t huge, but it hits the right notes with local specialties alongside the usual continental stuff. I was surprised by how good their tea selection was, including some regional varieties you don’t see everywhere. Parking can be a bit tricky on the street, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you’re patient. The 9.7 rating honestly makes sense when you stay here – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Baku, but it nails the fundamentals while giving you that local neighborhood feel that chain hotels completely miss.
