Hotel Square Inn Overview
First Impressions
Walking into Hotel Square Inn for the first time, I was honestly surprised by how polished everything felt for a four-star property. The lobby has this clean, modern vibe without being sterile — you know what I mean? It’s not trying too hard to impress, but there’s definitely attention to detail in the way they’ve put things together. The staff greeted me in both Azerbaijani and English, which I appreciated since my Azerbaijani is pretty much non-existent.
Prime Baku Location
Here’s the thing about this hotel’s location — it’s actually perfect if you want to explore Baku properly. You’re right in the Sabayil district on Khagani Street, which puts you within walking distance of the Old City and all those incredible medieval walls. I mean, I could literally see the Maiden Tower from my window on the upper floors. The Caspian Sea waterfront is maybe a five-minute stroll, and honestly, that evening walk along the boulevard became my daily ritual. Plus, you’re close enough to the Flame Towers that they dominate your view, but far enough that you’re not dealing with all the tourist chaos.
The Room Experience
My room was on the sixth floor, and while it wasn’t huge, it was thoughtfully designed. The bed was comfortable — not amazing, but definitely good enough for a solid night’s sleep after walking around the city all day. What I really liked was the bathroom setup; they’d clearly renovated recently because everything felt fresh and modern. The air conditioning worked well too, which you’ll appreciate during Baku’s hot summers. The WiFi was reliable throughout my stay, though it did slow down a bit during peak evening hours.
Dining and Amenities
The hotel’s restaurant serves a mix of local Azerbaijani dishes and international options — I’d recommend trying their plov, which was actually quite good. Breakfast is included and while it’s not elaborate, there’s enough variety to keep you satisfied. They have fresh bread, local cheeses, and decent coffee. The hotel also offers parking, which is genuinely helpful in this part of Baku where street parking can be a nightmare. There’s no spa or fitness center, but honestly, with the city right at your doorstep, you’ll get plenty of exercise exploring.
Why Guests Love It
What really sets this place apart is how it strikes that sweet spot between location and value. You’re paying reasonable rates for a spot that puts you in the heart of everything worth seeing in Baku. The couples who stay here seem to love it — and I can see why, since the area is perfect for romantic evening walks along the Caspian. The staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay work, and they’re helpful with directions and recommendations without being pushy. It’s not the fanciest hotel in Baku, but it delivers exactly what most travelers actually need: a clean, comfortable base in an excellent location.
Apartments in Baku suit executives with marble foyers, butler pantries, and Caspian-view balconies.
