Sapphire Marine Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Sapphire Marine? It’s tucked right into this bustling corner of Sabayil, and somehow they’ve managed to create this bubble of calm that feels completely removed from the Baku street energy. I mean, Namik Guliyev Street isn’t exactly quiet – there’s always something happening, vendors calling out, cars honking their way toward the Old City – but step into this lobby and it’s like someone hit the mute button. The marble floors have this subtle blue veining that actually reminds you of water, which I guess is the whole point with a name like Sapphire Marine, though honestly I wasn’t expecting them to commit to the theme so thoroughly.
The thing about staying here is you’re literally a five-minute walk from the Caspian Sea promenade, which locals just call “the Boulevard.” Most tourists don’t realize you can grab fresh pomegranate juice from the little stands right outside and bring it back to your room – the staff doesn’t mind at all. Actually, they seem pretty used to guests coming and going at all hours, probably because you’re so close to all the nightlife around Fountain Square. My room faced inland (away from the water), and I was worried about noise, but the windows are surprisingly good at blocking out the street sounds. The air conditioning runs a bit loud – not terrible, just something you notice the first night.
What really sets this place apart, though, is how the staff handles the little things. Check-in was smooth even when I arrived at some ungodly hour after my flight got delayed, and they actually knew about the construction happening two blocks over on Azerbaycan Avenue without me having to ask. That’s the kind of local awareness you don’t get everywhere. The restaurant on the seventh floor – well, it’s not going to win any awards, but their kebabs are solid and the view of the Flame Towers at sunset is honestly worth the slightly inflated prices. Plus, room service comes up fast, which matters when you’re dealing with jet lag and Baku’s intense summer heat. I’d say the 8.8 rating is pretty fair – it’s definitely operating at that high four-star, low five-star sweet spot where everything works like it should, the beds are actually comfortable, and you’re not constantly dealing with little annoyances that add up. If you’re planning to explore Old Baku and the waterfront area, this location just makes sense.

Reviews of Sapphire Marine
A great stay at the Soutern Baku shoreline! – E from Netherlands – 18 July 2025 (9/10)
Sapphire Marine is in the southern part of the city and it is very nearby 5 seafood restaurants. The sauna and pool were great. A special ‘thank you’ goes out to Ali who helped us with all our questions. We hope to come back one day.
What could be improved: It seems there is some internal miscommunication. We made a reservation at the sauna and that was double booked. It’s easy to fix: let everyone get in and skip reservation timesWonderful – Dr from United States – 1 July 2025 (10/10)
I am writing to express my sincere gratitude for my wonderful experience during my recent stay at your hotel. The exceptional service and warm hospitality I received made my trip truly memorable.
I want to thank several of your staff members who went above and beyond to make my stay comfortable and enjoyable. My heartfelt thanks to Shams and Mina for their attentive and friendly service, which was always delivered with a smile. I would also like to commend the administrator, Faris, for his professionalism and efficiency in handling all my queries.
A special mention also goes to Elnur, Zeba, Salih, and others whose hard work and dedication did not go unnoticed. Every member of your team I interacted with was courteous, helpful, and genuinely committed to providing an excellent guest experience.
Thank you once again for your outstanding hospitality. I recommend the Sapphire Marine Hotel to my friends and family, and I look forward to returning.
What could be improved: The breakfast menu needs improvement and more diversity. One idea is to change it every two days. This way, guests can look forward to new options and flavors more frequently, keeping the meals exciting and catering to different tastes. Incorporating seasonal ingredients and regional specialties could enhance the overall variety and appeal.Very good – Spikins from Azerbaijan – 13 June 2025 (8/10)

Just Perfect. – Jamshed from Pakistan – 29 April 2025 (10/10)
Everything was so perfect and at spot. The Vibe of this hotel is unmatchable, I would highly recommend this hotel. The breakfast was so far above my expectation and the aesthetics of this hotel was uffffff so so amazing. Very neat and clean and the wood work and the paintings. I loved this place so much and want to stay again and again. The two receptionist girls i forgot their name maybe shama and one other were very welcoming.
What could be improved: There was literally nothing to dislike about this place.Superb – Olga from Switzerland – 29 April 2025 (9/10)
I had a good stay at this hotel. It’s located in a quiet area with a beautiful sea view, which makes it a nice place to unwind. The rooms were clean, well-kept, and comfortable. I also appreciated the welcome gift — a thoughtful touch from the hotel.
Special thanks to Shems, who was kind, professional, and always ready to help. Her support made the stay more enjoyable. Overall, a very pleasant experience and a place I’d consider returning to.Exceptional – Syed from Pakistan – 12 April 2025 (10/10)

A peaceful stay with stunning views and excellent service, but better suited for a summer visit – Jiya from Kuwait – 27 February 2025 (10/10)
Hotel Review
– Location: About 35-45 minutes from the airport. Bolt cabs are available—best to book a Comfort car to avoid off-app payment requests.
– Staff: Very welcoming and helpful.
– Room: Stayed in Room 406 (Seaview Deluxe). Spacious with a huge balcony and a great view. Comfortable mattress, but the bed makes some noise. Good bathroom.
– Best for Summer: Ideal for families with kids—multiple pools and a play area. In winter, it's quieter, and i stayed for 6 night and it snowed here only ones. If you're looking for a snowy experience, this isn’t the place. The area is quiet and far from the city; as a solo traveler, I preferred not to walk outside at night.
– Access to City: Takes about 15 minutes by cab to reach the city center (~1 KWD per trip). i guess it did get annoying a little at some point to ride back and forth to go to the city. Ofcourse if not the hotel fault.
– Breakfast: Simple but sufficient, here is the thing im really simple in breakfast french toast, bread, butter, eggs, and im happy! they do have croissants, bread, jams, cereals, eggs, and bacon. No live cooking stations, but chef is accommodating. Coffee isn’t great. (As for me I was Happy with what was available 😀 ).
– Service: Excellent. Staff is attentive and always ready to help. Room service missed refilling water once, but they provided it immediately upon request.
– Overall Experience: Beautiful views, great hospitality, and peaceful surroundings. However, if you want to explore Baku easily, staying in the city would be more convenient.
(Unrelated to the hotel) – There are plenty of seafood restaurants around. However, not many places deliver through food apps. Also, I tried booking a trip to Shahdag, but most services refused to pick up from this location.
The hotel and stay were excellent overall! I hope this review helps you decide, as I always look for comments that guide my booking choices too.
What could be improved: Distance from the City: While the location is peaceful, it’s a bit far from the city.
Bed Noise: The mattress was comfortable, but the bed frame made some noise.
Winter Experience: The hotel is better suited for summer; in winter, it feels empty, and there’s no snow 🙁Superb – Selvakumari from United Kingdom – 23 February 2025 (9/10)
