Perron Hotel Baku Overview

You know what caught me off guard about the Perron Hotel Baku? Walking up to this place on Tagiyev street, I was expecting just another decent four-star spot – but there’s something about how they’ve positioned themselves right in the heart of Sabayil that makes it feel more connected to the real Baku than those flashy towers down by the Flame Towers.

The location is honestly pretty perfect if you actually want to experience the city. You’re literally surrounded by the kind of neighborhood cafes and small shops that most tourists never stumble across, and I mean, you can walk to the Old City in about fifteen minutes without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist drags. The staff seemed genuinely surprised when I mentioned I’d walked from Icherisheher – apparently most guests just take taxis everywhere, which is kind of a shame because you miss all the little architectural details along the way. Check-in was smooth enough, though they did that thing where they hold onto your passport a bit longer than necessary (totally normal for Azerbaijan, but worth knowing if it’s your first time in the region). The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid four-star – clean, comfortable beds, decent WiFi that actually works for video calls, which honestly isn’t a given in every Baku hotel I’ve stayed in.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night, especially compared to some of the places closer to Fountain Square where you’re dealing with traffic noise until pretty late. The 7.5 rating makes sense to me – it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but everything works the way it should, and there’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t oversell itself. The breakfast spread was surprisingly good, with actual local options mixed in with the standard international stuff (though honestly, skip the coffee and walk two blocks to that little place on the corner – you’ll thank me later). I stayed there during shoulder season and never felt crowded, though I imagine summer gets pretty busy given how central everything is. If you’re the type who likes to be within walking distance of both the historical sites and the more contemporary Baku scene, this spot hits that sweet spot without making you feel like you’re staying in a tourist bubble.

Very comfortable, clean, delicious food, and so peaceful to be there. There can't be a better option than Perron Hotel in Nizami Street. It's the perfect place to stay. Services were great.

What could be improved: Free airport pick-up was included in our booking, but later, the hotel management refused to provide the facility for free, or we had to pay, which really disappointed us.
