I mean, the kitchen actually has decent counter space (you’d be surprised how many “apartment hotels” skimp on this), and the living area has this whole modern Azerbaijani vibe going on – not too traditional, not trying too hard to be European either. The windows face toward the courtyard, so you’re not dealing with street noise at night, which I appreciated since Jalilov can get busy during the day with people cutting through to Nizami. The Wi-Fi was solid too, worked well for video calls back home.

What really sold me on this place was the attention to small stuff. There’s actually proper hangers in the closet, the shower has good pressure (seriously, this matters more than people think), and they stock the kitchen with basics so you’re not immediately hunting down a grocery store. The check-in was smooth – they met me right at the apartment, walked me through everything, and didn’t rush off like they had ten other places to get to. Location-wise, you’re about a fifteen-minute walk to the Old City, maybe ten minutes to catch the metro at 28 May station if you’re heading toward the Flame Towers or wherever. There’s a decent little market just around the corner on Rashid Behbudov Street, and honestly, being in this neighborhood gives you a better feel for how locals actually live rather than staying in the tourist bubble down by the boulevard. The whole setup just works – it’s got that residential comfort but you’re still close enough to everything that matters in Baku.
