NOBEL Hotel Overview

So I’ve stayed at the NOBEL Hotel a few times now – it’s tucked away on Nobel avenue in central Baku, and honestly, the location grows on you. At first glance, you might think it’s just another mid-range business hotel, but there’s something genuinely comfortable about the place that keeps me coming back when I’m in Azerbaijan.

The thing about NOBEL is that it sits in this sweet spot where you’re close enough to walk to the Old City (Icherisheher) in about fifteen minutes, but far enough from the main tourist chaos that you actually get some peace at night. The staff – and I mean this – actually remember you if you’ve been there before, which is rarer than you’d think in a four-star place. Check-in is usually pretty smooth, though I’d avoid arriving during the afternoon business rush when there’s often a small crowd of oil industry folks handling their bookings. The rooms are what you’d expect from a solid 4-star – nothing fancy, but the beds are genuinely comfortable and the AC works reliably (crucial during Baku’s sweltering summers). I particularly like that the windows actually open, so you can get some of that Caspian breeze when the weather’s decent.

What really makes this place work is the attention to small details that matter when you’re traveling for work or pleasure. The Wi-Fi is consistently good throughout the building – I’ve done video calls from the lobby without issues. There’s this little breakfast area where they serve a decent mix of local and international options, and the Azerbaijani tea service is actually worth getting up for. The neighborhood itself has character too; there’s a small market just two blocks down where locals shop, and you’ll find some excellent kebab spots within walking distance that most tourists never discover. Parking can be a bit tight if you’re driving, but the front desk usually sorts something out. The only real downside I’ve noticed is that rooms facing the street can get a bit noisy during morning rush hour, but honestly, that’s Baku for you – it’s a bustling city. The 7.9 rating seems about right to me; it’s not going to wow you with luxury, but it delivers exactly what it promises without any unpleasant surprises. If you’re looking for a reliable base to explore Baku without paying Old City premium prices, NOBEL hits that mark pretty well.

Reviews of NOBEL Hotel

  • Great hotel, great rooms, I would stay again – Cameron from United Kingdom – 23 June 2025 (9/10)

I really enjoyed my stay here the location was perfect and most importantly the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and made the stay worth while. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable and I would stay again.

What could be improved: Everything was good the only issue was that the shower leaked onto the floor.

  • Great value for money in a very good location with helpfull staff and large rooms. – Jonathan from Netherlands – 23 June 2025 (8/10)

Nice helpfull staff, the location is great, not too far from the city centre. The room was large and had a fridge, a large bed and nice bathroom. Breakfast was good, many options and freshly made eggs and meats.
I bought raw liver to eat at my room and the staff was so friendly to cut it into pieces for me.

What could be improved: I found a few dark hairs on the bed linen, this was a bummer as the whole room and bed looked very clean. But that was really the only thing.
