Moss Art Boutique Hotel Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to 15 Islam Safarli Street, I almost missed the Moss Art Boutique Hotel entirely. It’s tucked away on the first floor of what looks like just another Yasamal district building, but you know what? That’s actually part of its charm. Once you’re inside, it’s like stepping into someone’s really well-curated art studio that just happens to have beds.
The whole place feels deliberately intimate – I mean, this isn’t your typical lobby-with-marble-columns situation. The owners have clearly put thought into every corner, with local artwork scattered around that actually means something (not just generic hotel wall fillers). What struck me most was how quiet it gets at night, which is pretty impressive considering you’re in the heart of Yasamal. The neighborhood itself is one of those spots where actual Baku residents live – you’ll hear Azeri conversations drifting from nearby apartments in the morning, and there’s a little bakery just down the street that opens ridiculously early. The staff genuinely seems to care about the place, too. During check-in, they didn’t just hand over keys and disappear; they actually asked about my plans and offered suggestions that weren’t from some corporate script.
Here’s the thing about staying here – it’s got that 3-star rating, but honestly, it punches above its weight class in ways that matter. The rooms are thoughtfully designed rather than just functional, and you can tell someone actually stayed in them before deciding what travelers need. The wifi works properly (tested it from every corner of my room because, well, priorities), and the water pressure is solid. I appreciated that they didn’t try to cram unnecessary amenities into the space just to fill a checklist. What they do have works well. The location is pretty perfect if you want to experience Baku like locals do – you’re close enough to the Old City and Flame Towers for tourist stuff, but far enough away that you’re not surrounded by tour groups at breakfast. Getting around is straightforward; taxis know the area well, and you’re within walking distance of decent restaurants that don’t automatically hand you an English menu. That 8.8 rating makes total sense once you’ve spent a night there. It’s the kind of place that does a few things really well rather than trying to be everything to everyone, which honestly feels refreshing in a city where a lot of hotels are either Soviet-era enormous or trying way too hard to be luxury. If you’re looking for a rooftop pool or 24-hour room service, keep scrolling. But if you want to actually feel like you’re staying somewhere with personality in a real Baku neighborhood, this is your spot.

What could be improved: NothingVery good – Silvija from Croatia – 2 July 2025 (8/10)
We liked the position of the hotel, the room was big, they changed towels every day and put bottles of water. We also liked the breakfast, various choices but the most we liked the lady that works in the kitchen and serves breakfast. She was very kind.
What could be improved: We didnt like that they asked us to pay the night before check out. Like we are going to run without payment, or what? So, at the end it was a little bitter taste. (Needles to say that we wanted to pay before comming, and they just kept saying, no worreis and did not withdraw the payment). Nevertheless, it was a good stay.Nice stay near Nizami Street – Ibrahimahmed443 from Pakistan – 22 June 2025 (10/10)
It's a nice little hotel right near the nizami street. The staff is very welcoming. Room size is average, but clean and full of basic amenities. The lady who prepares/serves breakfast was nice and spoke good English.

Great location, nice interior, great breakfast, friendly staff. We've stayed at a few different hotels in Baku, but this is the one we would book again without any doubts.
What could be improved: The street is a bit noisy on some days, but not a big deal.10/10 you won’t regret staying at this hotel – Joanna from Philippines – 7 June 2025 (10/10)
We had a great stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient, reasonable price, close to everything we needed. (Nizami street, restaurant, grocery,) The room was clean and well-maintained, with fresh towels and bottled water provided daily. Breakfast was decent with a good variety to start the day. What stood out the most was the friendly and accommodating staff who made the experience even better. I would definitely stay here again!

Very comfortable hotel in great location with very friendly and helpful staff, especially Orhan, who couldn't do enough to make my stay enjoyable.
What could be improved: There was a bit of noise from loud music from outside the hotel into the early hours – this may have been because I was there on a weekend.Overall experience was great for me and my daughter.
