Iris Hotel Baku – Halal Hotel Overview

You know what struck me first about the Iris Hotel Baku? It’s this surprisingly calm spot on Salatin Asgarova street that feels miles away from the chaos of central Baku, even though you’re still right in the Nasimi district. I mean, you’ve got easy access to everything that matters, but without the constant hum of traffic that keeps you up at night in some of the downtown places.

The whole halal concept here isn’t just slapped on as an afterthought – they actually get it right. No awkward conversations about dietary restrictions or wondering if you need to hunt down appropriate meal options. The staff genuinely understands what halal hospitality means, which honestly makes the whole experience more relaxing than I expected. The rooms have this clean, modern feel without being sterile – think comfortable business hotel meets thoughtful Islamic hospitality. What I really appreciated was how they handle prayer times and Qibla directions without making a big production of it. It’s just… there when you need it.

Location-wise, you’re in a sweet spot that locals actually know how to find (trust me, that’s not always a given in Baku). The Nasimi area gives you that authentic Azerbaijani neighborhood vibe – you’ll hear kids playing in courtyards and smell fresh bread from nearby bakeries in the mornings. It’s about a 15-minute ride to the Old City when you want to do the tourist thing, but close enough to the Caspian Sea that you can actually walk there if you’re feeling ambitious. The 8.3 rating makes sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but everything works the way it should. Check-in was smooth, the WiFi actually reaches every corner of my room (small miracle), and the morning call to prayer from nearby mosques creates this peaceful backdrop rather than a disturbance. Four stars feels right – solid, dependable, with those thoughtful touches that show someone cares about the guest experience rather than just filling rooms.

Reviews of Iris Hotel Baku – Halal Hotel

  • Superb – Qais from Oman – 6 May 2025 (9/10)

Room is clean, location is good and breakfast is good

What could be improved: No enough elevators

  • Superb – Mohamed from Spain – 9 April 2025 (9/10)

Thanks to all the staff especially the reception manager. The staff was very friendly and the location was somewhat good It was still a problem to get Bolt taxi as the area is with heavy traffic especially in the evening time. It would be good to provide water for guests. Normal big bottled water to buy on a reasonable price.. The water provided for free is 2 x300ml and only option is to buy either half letter bottle from restaurant or to buy from outside. Also maybe provide little tea machine for free by adding some little cost on room price.

  • Very good – Levend from Turkey – 14 September 2024 (8/10)

Clean room, comfortable bed, warm staff, very good breakfast. Location is central.

What could be improved: Some buildings very close to this hotel are really in ruins. Staff told us that they will be demolished soon.

  • Very good – Constantin from Romania – 5 February 2024 (8/10)

I stayed several times at this hotel and, in general there are the same strengths as before: very kind and helpful staff, clean facilities, good breakfast, good value for money.

What could be improved: But, on the other hand, with the exception of the staff (the same kindness and very helpful), everything was a little bit less: a bit less clean, more wear and tear, some breakfast items not so good, and, in total, a little bit less value for money (because the price per night was higher too, each time, than during the previous stay).

  • Assim from United Arab Emirates – 16 December 2023 (8/10)

  • Superb – Abdul from Saudi Arabia – 1 December 2023 (9/10)

    Clean and modern

    What could be improved: Nothing

  • Superb – Samia from Pakistan – 20 November 2023 (9/10)

Excellent stay with everything available in this new beautiful hotel.
Professional courteous staff from reception – breakfast to check out.. Manager at restaurant also very professional.
Spacious rooms with neat clean washroom. Confortable beds
    Highly recommended

What could be improved: Breakfast items should be more. Toast, crossiant , live station for egg .
If open window then noise from outside

  • Very good – Mughal from United Arab Emirates – 30 October 2023 (8/10)

Cleanliness, Comfort & Staff all were very nice and helpful. Most importantly, the location. Everything you need as a tourist was on walking distance.

What could be improved: The restaurant buffet was OK, not much of variety, but A la carte service was very good

  • overall we enjoyed our stay, surely will stay there again – Aileen from United Arab Emirates – 23 October 2023 (9/10)

clean and big rooms with comfy beds and helpful staffs, very near to metro station.

What could be improved: not universal plugs

  • Superb – Qazi from Saudi Arabia – 18 October 2023 (9/10)

    Comfortable beds, cleanliness, breakfast

What could be improved: Air condition was off due to cold weather but it was hot inside the room
