Hillmond’s Boutique Overview
Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Hillmond’s Boutique on Badamdar şossesi, I wasn’t expecting much from a 3-star place. But you know what? Sometimes you get pleasantly surprised, and this little spot really grew on me during my stay in Baku.
The thing about this hotel is that it sits in this interesting pocket of Sabayil where you’re close enough to the action but not drowning in tourist crowds. I mean, you’re maybe a 15-minute walk from the Old City walls, and there’s this great little bakery just down the street that locals actually go to – not one of those touristy spots charging you double for mediocre pastries. The staff here genuinely seem to care, which honestly caught me off guard. When I mentioned I was trying to figure out the best way to get to the Flame Towers for photos, the front desk guy actually drew me a little map showing the walking route and told me the best time to go (golden hour, obviously, but he knew the exact spot where you avoid the construction barriers).
The rooms are… well, they’re not fancy, but they’re thoughtfully done. Clean lines, decent WiFi that actually works – I was video calling back home without issues – and the beds are surprisingly comfortable. There’s this attention to small details that you don’t always get at this price point. Like, the bathroom has proper water pressure (trust me, this matters in Baku), and they’ve got blackout curtains that actually block out the street lights. The AC works well too, which you’ll appreciate if you’re visiting in summer when it gets absolutely sweltering outside. I will say the walls are a bit thin – I could hear my neighbors’ TV sometimes – but it wasn’t terrible, and the neighborhood quiets down pretty early anyway. What really won me over was the breakfast situation. It’s not a huge spread, but everything they do have is fresh and local. The cheese selection alone made my mornings, and they’ve got this honey that I’m pretty sure comes from somewhere nearby because it tastes nothing like the generic hotel stuff you usually get. Plus, the breakfast room has these big windows overlooking the street, so you can people-watch while you eat and get a feel for the neighborhood rhythm.
Honestly, for the money and the location, Hillmond’s Boutique delivers way more than you’d expect. It’s one of those places where you can tell someone actually thought about what travelers need, rather than just checking boxes on a corporate checklist. If you’re the type who values character over marble lobbies, and you want to stay somewhere that feels connected to actual Baku rather than some international hotel bubble, this place makes a lot of sense.

Review for Hillmond Hotel, Baku
My stay at Hillmond Hotel was truly delightful. From a smooth check-in to a hassle-free checkout, the entire process was seamless and stress-free.
The rooms were spotlessly clean, and the bathroom was thoughtfully stocked with high-quality toiletries. I particularly appreciated the neatly arranged towels on the heated rack and the reliable supply of hot and cold water — these small details made a big difference to the overall comfort.
The staff were exceptional — always polite, responsive, and ready to assist with any queries. Their hospitality created a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere throughout my stay.
The complimentary breakfast offered a good variety and was a lovely way to start the day, while the hotel’s dinner service was a pleasant surprise — the meals were delicious and exceeded expectations. i am attaching delicious meal pics from the hotel.
Though the hotel is about 4 km from the busy city center, getting around was easy and affordable with Bolt cabs, which usually cost just 3 to 4 manat. The service quality at Hillmond Hotel was top-notch, easily matching the standards of any well-rated resort.
Overall, Hillmond Hotel provided a peaceful, comfortable, and thoroughly enjoyable stay. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a cozy and relaxing base while visiting Baku.
