Turn 2 on Bunyatzade puts you in this quiet residential pocket that feels worlds away from the airport chaos, but honestly, you’re still close enough that taxi drivers don’t groan when you give them the address. The neighborhood has that authentic Baku vibe – you’ll hear morning conversations drifting from apartment balconies and catch the scent of fresh bread from the little bakery down the street. What I love is that it’s not touristy at all, so you get a real sense of how locals live, but you’re not stranded either. There’s a decent grocery store within walking distance, and the guesthouse staff (who speak solid English, thankfully) know exactly which marshrutka routes connect you to the Old City.

The building itself is one of those converted residential places that could easily feel cramped or weird, but they’ve done something right here. The rooms are clean in that spotless Eastern European way – I mean really clean, not just “hotel clean.” The beds are firm (which I personally love after long flights), and there’s this attention to small details that surprised me. Like, they actually have proper hangers instead of those useless hotel ones, and the WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes. You can hear some street noise during the day, but it’s not the kind that keeps you awake – more like gentle neighborhood sounds that honestly helped me sleep better than dead silence would have. The bathroom situation is solid too, with decent water pressure and hot water that doesn’t run out halfway through your shower (you’d be surprised how often that’s an issue in this price range).

During my second stay, they remembered I was the guy who asked about the best time to visit Gobustan, which is such a small thing but made the whole experience feel more personal. The check-in process is refreshingly straightforward too – no endless paperwork or surprise fees, just “here’s your key, breakfast is until 10, let us know if you need anything.” For a 4-star rating, it delivers exactly what you’d hope for without any pretense or fake luxury touches that don’t actually improve your stay.

  The best option where to stay next to the airport. To be honest, it would have been very pleasant to stay longer! The house has a quiet garden, our private apartment was big, clean and with every facilities. The host was super nice and drove us to the airport too!

  Not modern luxury, but very spacious, with garden and outside table. It was such a pleasure to sleep there after the city noises in silence, and to wake up and hear the birds.
