You know what? I wasn’t expecting much from Greencity Resort when I first pulled up to 14 Salyan Highway – honestly, the name made me think it’d be some generic eco-themed place with fake plants everywhere. But this spot actually surprised me. The building has this understated elegance that feels more sophisticated than your typical Baku hotel, and the entrance doesn’t try too hard to impress you with marble everything like some places downtown do.

The location is actually pretty clever if you think about it. Sure, you’re not right in the thick of Old City action, but Salyan Highway puts you in this sweet spot where you can still get to Flame Towers or the Boulevard without dealing with all that Nizami Street chaos. I mean, the traffic can get a bit mental during rush hour – that’s just Baku for you – but the hotel’s set back enough that you don’t hear the constant honking all night. The rooms are solidly comfortable (nothing fancy, but the AC works great, which honestly matters more than thread count when it’s 35 degrees outside), and I was pleasantly surprised by how quiet everything stayed even when the place seemed pretty full. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing too – check-in was smooth, and they actually had useful suggestions about getting around the city instead of just handing you a generic tourist map.

What really sells this place for me is that it feels like it’s run by people who understand what travelers actually need. The WiFi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, there’s always hot water (trust me, this isn’t guaranteed everywhere), and the breakfast setup – while not elaborate – has decent local options alongside the usual international stuff. You’ll find proper Azerbaijani tea service, which sounds small but really isn’t when you’re trying to ease into the local rhythm. The 8.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there; it’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Baku, but it delivers on the basics really well and throws in some thoughtful touches that show they pay attention. If you’re the type who wants to explore the city without breaking the bank on accommodation, or you just prefer staying somewhere that feels more genuine than those massive chain hotels near the center, Greencity Resort hits that mark. Plus, parking is actually manageable here – which, if you’ve ever tried to park near Fountains Square on a weekend, you’ll appreciate more than you’d expect.

  Были семьёй с 2 умя детьми, просторные апартаменты, все необходимое есть (посудомойка, стиральная машина, микроволновка)красивый вид из окна. Закрытая территория, отпускали детей на площадку и бассейн одних со спокойной душой. Есть кафе и рестораны, аквапарк, спа (платный на случай плохой погоды) Если перейти через мост и выйти из комплекса налево есть пляж. До города такси 15-20 минут. Спасибо за комфортное проживание! И огромное спасибо Тахмине за поддержку на всем протяжении нашего отдыха🩷
