The apartment itself feels more like staying at a design-savvy friend’s place than a typical hotel setup. The owners clearly put thought into the details – good lighting (finally!), decent water pressure, and they’ve managed to soundproof pretty well considering you’re on one of the busier streets in Sabayil. I was worried about noise, honestly, but even with my window cracked open, the street sounds felt more like gentle urban background music than anything disruptive.

What really sold me was how the staff – well, I guess property managers – actually knew the neighborhood. When I asked about finding proper Azerbaijani tea, they didn’t just point me toward the tourist spots but sent me to this little place three blocks down where locals actually go. And parking, which can be a nightmare in this part of Baku, was sorted without drama. The whole check-in process felt refreshingly human – none of that overly formal hotel theater, just genuine people who seemed to care that you had what you needed. The space itself strikes this nice balance between having enough room to spread out (the living area actually fits two people comfortably) while still feeling cozy rather than stark. I mean, you’re not getting a palace here, but everything works well and feels intentional. By my third day, I was genuinely sad to leave – partly because I’d gotten attached to my morning routine of grabbing coffee and walking through the cobblestone maze outside, but mostly because the GALIANO just felt right. It’s the kind of place where you can picture yourself actually living for a week or two, not just passing through.
