After staying there, I actually kind of love that quirky spelling because it perfectly captures how this place feels different from your typical cookie-cutter hotel. You’re literally inside İçəri Şəhər, which means you’re waking up within the ancient walls of Old City Baku, and that’s something most visitors pay premium rates just to be near.

The location is honestly incredible if you know anything about Baku. You can walk to the Maiden Tower in about three minutes – I timed it because I’m weird like that – and the Shirvanshah’s Palace is basically around the corner. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you: being on Müslüm Maqomayev street means you’re on one of the quieter cobblestone lanes, so you get all the historic atmosphere without the constant tour group chatter that hits the main drags around 10 AM. The building itself has that solid, slightly worn feel of old Baku architecture, though they’ve clearly put work into the interiors. My apartment (and yeah, these really do feel more like apartments than hotel rooms) had this interesting mix of modern fixtures with hints of traditional Azerbaijani touches – nothing too heavy-handed, just enough to remind you where you are.

What really sold me was the practical stuff that matters when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The kitchen setup is legit – I mean, you can actually cook a proper meal, not just heat up instant noodles. There’s solid water pressure, which honestly surprised me given how old this part of the city is, and the WiFi works consistently (tested during a video call with colleagues back home). The host was responsive without being pushy, and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. I will say the stairs can be a bit steep if you’re hauling heavy luggage – this is a historic building, so no elevator – but that’s pretty standard for Old City accommodations. The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’re there because it’s one of those places that just works without any drama. You’re close enough to walk to Nizami Street for shopping and restaurants, but when evening hits and the day-trippers head back to their hotels in the modern part of town, you get to experience what Old Baku actually feels like when it’s just locals heading home from work. That’s worth way more than any fancy lobby.

  I had an incredible stay at the Four Season Apartment! The apartment was spacious, beautifully decorated, and spotlessly clean, with ample room. The view from the balcony was breathtaking, especially with the city lights at night. The location was ideal—right near the 28 May metro station, making it easy to explore. We had all the amenities we needed, including a well-equipped kitchen and strong Wi-Fi. The host was friendly and accommodating.
