So here’s the thing about Diplomat Suites – it’s one of those places that actually lives up to its name without being pretentious about it. I mean, when you’re walking down Suleyman Rahimov street in the Nasimi district, you kind of expect another generic business hotel, but this place surprised me. The location is honestly perfect if you know Baku at all – you’re close enough to the action but far enough from the tourist chaos that swarms around the Old City.

What I really appreciated was how they’ve managed to feel upscale without that sterile, cookie-cutter vibe you get at so many four-star places. The suites (and they’re actual suites, not just rooms with a sitting area shoved in the corner) have this lived-in elegance that makes you want to kick off your shoes and stay awhile. The staff genuinely seems to care – not in that over-rehearsed way, but like they actually want you to have a good experience. Check-in was smooth, and honestly, the front desk guy gave me better restaurant recommendations than half the travel blogs I’d read.

You know what really sold me though? The little details that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The Wi-Fi actually works everywhere (trust me, I tested it), the shower pressure is fantastic, and there’s proper soundproofing – none of those paper-thin walls where you hear every conversation in the hallway. The neighborhood gets quiet at night, which is gold if you’re trying to recover from jet lag or just need decent sleep. Parking isn’t a nightmare either, which anyone who’s driven in Baku will tell you is basically a miracle. The area has some solid local spots within walking distance – there’s this little café about two blocks down that serves incredible qutab, and you’re close enough to Fountain Square that you can walk there when you want to be touristy, but you don’t have to deal with the noise and crowds when you don’t. I’d definitely stay here again, and that 8.2 rating makes sense once you’ve been there. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in town, but it gets the fundamentals right and then some.

  The property is ideally located, just about one kilometer or a ten-minute easy walk from the city center of Baku. The walk takes you through lively city streets full of shops, yet the building itself is situated on a quiet and peaceful street, ensuring privacy and tranquility.
  
  There is parking available right in front of the building, and access to the apartment is easy via elevator. The apartment is on the 11th floor, and the hallways are clean, tidy, and well-lit.
  
  The apartment itself is clean and well-maintained, equipped with all the essential amenities needed for a short stay. For a longer stay, you might need to bring a few extra things, but regular cleaning service is available, which makes things much easier.
  
  The staff is extremely helpful and friendly. Communication with both the reception and the owners was excellent – quick, clear, and professional.
  
  Overall, a very positive experience that I would definitely recommend for both short tourist visits and longer stays in Baku.

  The queen studio is on the 11th floor, with an incredible view of the Caspian and the famous flame towers. I stood in awe!
  The kitchenetts is very well equipped, and if it wasn't for the price, it would be great for a long stay.
