CRAVEN Home Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first saw CRAVEN Home tucked away on Uzeyir Hajibeyov Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The name doesn’t exactly scream “hotel,” does it? But that’s actually part of its charm. This 4-star spot sits right in the heart of Sabayil, and once you’re inside, you realize they’ve nailed that whole “home away from home” concept without being cheesy about it.
The thing about this location is that you’re genuinely in the thick of things – I mean, you can walk to the Old City walls in about ten minutes, and the Caspian waterfront is practically right there. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays despite being so central. The street itself isn’t one of those major thoroughfares that’ll keep you up all night with traffic, but you’re still close enough to everything that matters. The staff clearly knows their stuff too; when I asked about getting to the Flame Towers for sunset photos, they didn’t just point me in a direction – they actually told me which route has the best views on the way up and warned me about the wind up there (which, honestly, saved my shot).
The rooms themselves feel… well, like someone actually lives there, if that makes sense. Not in a “previous guest left their stuff” way, but more like they’ve been thoughtfully put together by people who understand what travelers actually need. The beds are properly comfortable – none of that rock-hard mattress nonsense you sometimes get – and they’ve got these great blackout curtains that actually work, which is clutch when you’re dealing with jet lag. You know what surprised me most though? The bathrooms are genuinely spacious. I don’t know why so many places skimp on bathroom space, but CRAVEN Home gets it right. Hot water pressure is solid too, which matters more than people admit after a long day walking around Baku’s cobblestone streets. The whole place has this relaxed energy that makes you want to hang out in the common areas rather than just crash in your room. I ended up chatting with other guests over coffee more than once, which doesn’t usually happen to me at hotels. Maybe it’s the layout, or maybe it’s just the type of travelers this place attracts, but there’s definitely a more social vibe here than your typical business hotel.
