When I asked about getting to the Old City, they didn’t just point me toward expensive taxis; they walked me through the marshrutka routes and mentioned which times of day to avoid certain streets (trust me, this matters in Baku traffic). The rooms have this lived-in comfort that you don’t always find at four-star places – everything works well, the beds are actually comfortable, and there’s decent water pressure, which… well, if you’ve traveled around this region, you know that’s not always guaranteed.

What really struck me was how the place feels more like staying at a well-appointed family home than a corporate hotel. The common areas have this relaxed vibe where you might end up chatting with other travelers over tea, and the breakfast setup – while not elaborate – hits all the right notes with local touches mixed in with familiar options. The location really grows on you once you get oriented; you’re walking distance from some excellent neighborhood spots that most tourists never discover, and getting to major attractions is straightforward once you figure out the rhythm of the city. Parking was surprisingly hassle-free, which anyone who’s driven in Baku will appreciate. I’d definitely stay here again – it’s one of those places that gets the balance right between comfort and character, without trying too hard to be something it’s not. For the price point and the genuine local feel, it delivers exactly what you’d want from a Baku base camp.
