Arium Hotel Baku Overview

You know what caught me off guard about the Arium Hotel? Walking up to this sleek building on Mammud Araz Street, I honestly wasn’t expecting much – it’s tucked away in what feels like a quieter residential pocket of Baku, away from all the tourist chaos around the Old City. But then you step inside and it’s like… oh, okay, these people actually know what they’re doing.

The whole place has this understated modern vibe that works really well. I mean, Baku can be overwhelming with all the flashy architecture and oil money everywhere, so there’s something refreshing about a hotel that doesn’t feel like it’s trying too hard. The rooms are genuinely well thought out – good blackout curtains (trust me, you’ll want these during the white nights), decent water pressure, and they’ve actually positioned the beds away from the street noise. That 9.3 rating starts making sense when you realize how many small details they got right. The staff speaks solid English too, which… honestly, that’s not always a given even at four-star places here.

What really sold me on this place was the breakfast situation – and I’m usually pretty cynical about hotel breakfasts. They do this great mix of local stuff alongside the usual continental spread. You can get proper Azerbaijani cheese and fresh bread while your travel companion sticks to their safe cereal choices. Plus, from this part of the city, you’re actually in a sweet spot location-wise. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from the Flame Towers, but you’re close enough to the metro (about a ten-minute walk) and there’s this whole stretch of local cafes and shops along the street that most tourists never discover. I grabbed some amazing baklava from a tiny place two blocks down that probably doesn’t see a foreign face for months. The taxi drivers all know the hotel too, so you don’t end up doing that awkward dance where you’re trying to explain where you’re staying. And parking – if you’re brave enough to drive in Baku – is actually manageable here, unlike some of the downtown hotels where you’re circling blocks forever. It’s the kind of place where you feel like you’re staying somewhere locals might actually recommend, not just another generic business hotel that happens to be in Azerbaijan.

Reviews of Arium Hotel Baku

  • Very Clean nice rooms with good service. Bathroom was very nice and clean but with issues. – Muhammad from Saudi Arabia – 3 July 2025 (8/10)

The overall experience was very good. The rooms were very neat and clean. Decent size. The staff was also very good. Some of them speak English also.

What could be improved: We faced Issues with the bathroom multiple times 1st day the water was not coming from overhead shower. And on 3rd day when we checkout there was no water in the Toilet.

Breakfast i would say was average. With very limited option. It can be improved.

  • Exceptional – Yang from China – 6 May 2025 (10/10)

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel! The private parking was very convenient, and all the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful—they truly made us feel welcome.

The breakfast restaurant was clean and offered delicious local dishes, which we really enjoyed. Our room was spacious with a fantastic view, making our stay even more pleasant.

The only minor downside was that the soundproofing could be slightly improved, but overall, it didn’t affect our enjoyment much. We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again!
