Honestly, when I first walked into Apartment ARC on Nizami Street, I wasn’t expecting much – I mean, it’s an apartment rental in the middle of Baku’s busiest pedestrian zone, so I figured it’d be all noise and chaos. But you know what? This place completely changed my perspective on where to stay in the Old City area.

The location is actually perfect if you want to be right in the thick of things. Nizami Street is basically Baku’s main shopping and dining strip – think of it as the Times Square of Azerbaijan, but way more walkable and charming. You’re literally steps away from some incredible local restaurants (there’s this amazing plov place just two doors down that locals line up for), and the whole area comes alive at night with street musicians and families taking evening strolls. What I loved most was being able to grab fresh bread from the corner bakery every morning – the smell of tandoor bread drifts right up to the windows around 7 AM, which is honestly the best alarm clock ever. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s really well-appointed place than a typical hotel. Everything’s been thought through in a way that shows someone actually lives in this city and knows what travelers need. The kitchen has real spices and proper cookware (not those flimsy hotel pans), and there’s a washing machine that actually works – crucial when you’re dealing with Baku’s dusty summer winds. I was worried about street noise, but the windows are surprisingly good at blocking out the evening crowds, though you’ll still hear the occasional wedding parade, which is part of the charm.

What really impressed me was how the place strikes this balance between being luxurious and livable. The furnishings feel expensive but not precious – you can actually relax on the couch with a book and a glass of wine without worrying about spilling something. The bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that actually has decent pressure, and honestly, after walking around Baku’s hilly streets all day, that’s not a small thing. The Wi-Fi is solid too, which matters if you’re trying to upload photos to Instagram or need to work remotely. My only minor complaint is that the building’s elevator is a bit temperamental – it works fine, just makes interesting sounds that had me questioning my life choices the first few times I used it. But the building itself has this old-world Baku character with modern updates that feels authentic rather than trying too hard to be trendy. If you’re the type who wants to experience Baku like you actually live there for a few days, rather than being sequestered in some international hotel chain, this is your spot.

  Excellent location, right inside the action yet quiet indoors, can't be better.
  Very well-set apartment with 3 huge bedrooms, kitchen and living room, two independent full bathrooms (one with jacuzzi tub), fully equipped kitchen and laundry, tons of storage space, tvs and media equipment, a balcony.
  
  What could be improved: Check-in. The agent who was to hand over keys to us, kept us waiting rather hanging in inertia as we requested for early check-in, which was not given. If place is not available fro early check-in,no problem but they should clearly say so instead of asking us to wait for few minutes every few minutes for 4 hours after a tiring flight. Rest all was good.
