Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places around Baku, but this apartment on Shamsi Badalbeyli street actually surprised me – and honestly, with a name like “10 out of 10 VIP,” I was half-expecting some over-hyped disappointment. But you know what? They weren’t kidding about that sea view. The terrace faces straight out toward the Caspian, and in the mornings you can watch the whole Flame Towers area wake up while the sun hits the water. I mean, it’s one of those views where you find yourself just standing there with your coffee longer than you planned.

The location is pretty perfect if you know Baku at all – you’re in Nasimi district, which means you’re close enough to walk to the Boulevard (maybe 10-15 minutes) but far enough away that you’re not dealing with all the tourist chaos. There’s this little bakery about two blocks down that locals actually go to, and the parking situation is way better than you’d expect for this part of the city. The apartment itself feels more like someone’s actual home than a rental – the kitchen has proper spices, there are books on the shelves, and the terrace furniture is comfortable enough that I actually used it instead of just taking photos. The shower pressure is solid (which, let’s be honest, isn’t always a given), and the air conditioning kept up with August heat without sounding like a jet engine. Only minor thing – the elevator is one of those old Soviet-era ones that makes interesting noises, but it works fine and honestly adds character.

What really gets me is how the whole place feels during different times of day. Mornings are quiet except for the occasional ship horn from the port, afternoons get this gorgeous light streaming through the windows, and evenings… well, the terrace at sunset is basically why you came to Baku in the first place. The host clearly knows what they’re doing too – check-in was smooth, they left local recommendations that were actually good (not just the obvious tourist spots), and when I had a question about the washing machine, someone responded within like twenty minutes. At this price point and with that 9.9 rating, I was skeptical it could live up to the hype, but honestly? Sometimes the stars align and you find a place that just works. If you’re planning to spend any real time in Baku and want something that feels like a temporary home rather than just somewhere to crash, this is exactly what you’re looking for.

  Es war ein toller Urlaub, toller Appartement, super nette Vermieterin, die perfekt Englisch spricht. Die Wohnung war top gepflegt, sehr sauber, sehr ruhig, liebevoll eingerichtet, sehr hell und mit einer wunderbaren Aussicht. Auch die Küche ist bestens ausgestattet. Und Roshvana und Ihr Sohn sind die Freundlichkeit in Person. Wir haben uns sofort zuhause gefühlt. Die Lage ist auch toll : 10 Minuten zu den wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten, im Erdgeschoss finden Sie einen grossen Supermarket und eine Bank, in unmittelbare Nähe Geschäfte, Restaurants… Ich kann Roshvana und Ihre Wohnung uneingeschränkt und wärmstens weiterempfehlen. Thank you so much Roshvana for the absolutely amazing and wonderful experience!!

  Rusha's apartment is so spacious and the location is so convenient, we stayed like locals, the supermarket is downstairs, the mall is a few steps away, lots of good coffee shops to choose from, by the way, you can use the washing machine and hang the clothes in the kitchen terrace peeking at the sea and the famous Heydar Aliyev Centre!!

  Чудесная просторная квартира со всем необходимым для жилья и даже больше. Есть всё, начиная от одноразовых шампуней, тапочек и заканчивая утюгом, кучей подушек, одеял, полотенец. Также вся техника: стиралка, посудомойка, микроволновка, кулер, пылесос, в принципе вся кухня укомплектована, мы готовили почти каждый день что-то.
  Про террасу многие писали, она чудесная, большая, какой вид! Жаль уже было холодно и мы не пользовались… Но с панорамных окон видом любовались каждый день)
  Расположение удачное, в доме супермаркет и банк, прям совсем рядом ТЦ, остановка транспорта, метро. До набережной спокойной дойти пешком.
  Также хочу отметить, что очень чисто.
  И наконец, чудесная хозяйка, очень доброжелательная и внимательная!! Беспокоилась о нашем отдыхе, давала советы!
  В такую квартиру было всегда приятно возвращается и не жаль оставаться, если непогода!)

  A great stay in Baku! The host is super friendly and helpful. The building has 24/7 guard at the entrance which made very easy to hand over the keys on a situation of late arrival. The apartment is very spacious yet cozy and has everything you could need. Two baths, two bedrooms, full kitchen, large terrace for summer-time dinners. Many smaller shops and supermarket, shopping mall just next to the building. very central location: metro and train stations 5min walk, old town and Nizami street 20min walk.

  Отличное расположение, всё в пешей доступности, супер виды с террасы, просторные комнаты, в наличии была чай, кофе, сахар, соль, стиральный порошок, таблетки для посудомойки, шампунь и т.д.
  В наличии привозная питьевая вода и кулер!

  What could be improved: Что можно было бы улучшить, это сковородки и кастрюли, они уже старенькие и пригоревшие. Всё остальное в квартире отлично!

  I was personally greeted by the host and given a tour of the property, showing me all the awesome amenities it had to offer. I really liked how centrally located the property was, with a bank, exchange, ATM, and supermarket all on the ground floor. Plus, 28 Mall was just down the road, and the Subway and Baku station were only a 5-minute walk away. There were also fast-food places nearby, which was super convenient.
  
  The host really went above and beyond with the little details – I mean, this was the first apartment I've stayed in that had a first aid kit, and even a nail cutter for guests to use. And get this, there was even a sewing kit! The host even provided a BakCard for guests to use on the metro or bus, which was something I had never experienced before.
  
  Overall, this place is perfect for families. The host really thought of everything, and I was impressed by the level of care and attention to detail. It made my stay that much more enjoyable.

• Spacious & wonderful apartment with an amazing view – Sheila from United States – 1 May 2024 (10/10)

  We are full-time travelers who spent 20 nights at the apartment in April and could easily have stayed longer. The location is perfect – it is right beside the bus and train station with a grocery store on the ground floor and a large one in the mall. It's a short walk to the waterfront. We preferred the location over the old town, especially for a longer stay. We walked everywhere and enjoyed the many parks.
  
  The bus stop to/from the airport is 5 minutes from the apartment, you can see it from the LR window. Confirm the departure time with the driver – the bus left on the hour and :30, not :15/:45 as per the airport website. We arrived late at night and scheduled a driver, if I were to do it again I'd take the bus. It's 1.30 manat per person with a rechargeable card or a little more for a one-time use card.
  
  The apartment is extremely spacious, it is much larger than we appreciated from the pictures. It's on the 18th floor which means very bright and sunny. There are two full bathrooms, we preferred the smaller bathroom shower, the water pressure was fine but it did take a few minutes for hot water to make it through the pipes. The furniture was comfortable, the mattress is an older style if you're accustomed to US/European memory foam but it did not feel worn out nor was it hard.
  
  The kitchen had a lot of room for cooking, there were sufficient pots but some had the Teflon coating scraped off on the bottom. The kitchen has everything for cooking simple meals – pots & pans, knives, colander. As most guests stay 3-7 days, what is available is fine – it worked for us for almost 3 weeks and because we do not eat meat, we cooked many of our meals.
  
  Communication was easy, Rovshana was incredibly friendly and hospitable. We asked for a couple of items and she brought them immediately. Most importantly, she used her time to register us when we had issues with the online system.
  
  What could be improved: The only recommendations I'd make would be to have parchment paper and aluminum foil, and to confirm kitchen items are fully stocked. We needed more dishwashing liquid and noticed the salt & pepper shakers were getting low. There was nothing we did not like.
