The Daily Mirror Overview
You know what struck me first about The Daily Mirror? The name actually makes sense once you’re inside – there’s this clever use of mirrors and reflective surfaces throughout the lobby that somehow doesn’t feel gimmicky. It’s tucked right on Əziz Əliyev küçəsi in Sabayil, which honestly is one of those streets that feels authentically Baku without being touristy. I mean, you’re walking distance from the Old City walls, but you’re not paying Old City prices for everything.
The thing about this place is it gets the details right in ways that surprised me. The elevators are actually quiet (you’d be amazed how many 4-star places mess this up), and the rooms have these thick curtains that block out the morning light completely – crucial if you’re dealing with jet lag or just want to sleep past sunrise. The 8.5 rating feels earned, not inflated. Sure, the wifi occasionally hiccups on higher floors, and the breakfast room gets pretty crowded around 9 AM, but these are minor complaints. What I really appreciated was the front desk staff actually knowing the neighborhood. When I asked about getting to the Flame Towers without dealing with tourist trap restaurants along the way, they gave me a specific route through the backstreets that saved both time and money.
The location is what really sells it, though. You’re maybe a 10-minute walk from the Caspian waterfront, and there’s this little tea house two blocks down that serves proper Azerbaijani breakfast – the hotel staff will point you there if you ask. Parking was easier than expected (there’s a small lot behind the building), and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. I stayed during shoulder season in October, so I can’t speak to summer crowds, but the whole area felt comfortably lived-in rather than overwhelmingly busy. The rooms themselves are clean and well-maintained, with decent air conditioning that doesn’t sound like a freight train. Honestly, for what you’re paying in this part of Baku, The Daily Mirror delivers exactly what a solid 4-star should: comfort without pretension, location without the markup, and staff who seem to genuinely want you to enjoy the city.

Ayrıca polis memurundan da rica ettim kendileri de aynı sekilde ulaşım saglayamadilar ve böyle bir yer olmadığını ilettiler. Kesinlikle güvenmeyiniz.

Отличный апарт. Все чисто, уютно, сделано со вкусом. Приятный дизайн, новая мебель, белоснежные пушистые полотенца. Персонал вежливый и дружелюбный. К уборке нареканий не было. Была приятно удивлена бесплатным вай-фаем с хорошей скоростью и наличием парковки. Обязательно вернусь в Экипаж еще раз.
