The neighborhood felt authentically Baku, which is great, but I wasn’t sure what to expect from a 3-star spot. Then I walked into apartment 107 and… wow. Sometimes ratings don’t lie, and that 9.8 makes perfect sense once you’re inside.

The owner clearly gets what travelers actually need. I mean, the kitchen was stocked with real dishes (not those flimsy hotel cups), there were extra blankets tucked in the closet – small stuff that shows someone’s been paying attention. The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place who has really good taste. Clean lines, comfortable furniture, and these huge windows that let in all this gorgeous Caspian light. What really got me though was how quiet it stayed at night, despite being in a residential area. You’d expect some street noise, but the building seems well-insulated. I actually slept better there than at some fancy hotels I’ve stayed at.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me before booking: the location is absolutely perfect if you want to experience Baku like a local. There’s this little bakery two blocks down that opens around 7 AM – the smell of fresh bread literally wafts down the street. And you’re close enough to catch marshrutkas easily, but far enough from Fountain Square that you’re not dealing with weekend crowds. The check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – none of that hotel desk drama, just quick communication and clear directions. Look, it’s not going to have a concierge or room service, but if you’re the type who prefers exploring neighborhood cafés over hotel restaurants anyway, this place just works. The value is honestly incredible for what you get, and staying here gave me insights into daily Baku life that I never would have gotten from a traditional hotel. Sometimes the best travel experiences happen when you stop trying so hard to be a tourist.
