Premier Hotel Overview

You know what struck me first about Premier Hotel? It’s tucked away on Shamsi Rahimov Street in this quietly bustling part of Baku that feels authentically local – not touristy at all, but not intimidating either. I mean, you’re basically in the heart of the city without dealing with the chaos of the main drags. When you step out the front door, there’s this mix of Soviet-era architecture and newer developments that’s so distinctly Baku, and honestly, I found myself just wandering around the neighborhood more than I expected.

The hotel itself is solid four-star territory – nothing flashy, but they clearly know what they’re doing. Check-in was surprisingly smooth (I’ve had some experiences in this region, let me tell you), and the staff actually seemed to care about helping rather than just going through the motions. The rooms are comfortable in that understated way where everything works properly – the AC actually cools things down, the shower has decent pressure, and the beds are firm enough that you’re not sinking into some marshmallow situation. I stayed on the sixth floor and could catch glimpses of the Caspian in the distance if I craned my neck just right from the window. The sound insulation is pretty good too, which matters because Baku can get lively, especially on weekends when locals are out enjoying themselves.

What I really appreciated was how the place strikes this balance between being professional and not trying too hard to be something it’s not. The breakfast spread is decent – think local breads, some European options, fresh fruit that’s actually fresh, and coffee that won’t make you wince. They’ve got this small lobby area where people actually hang out and chat, which tells you something about the atmosphere. The location is honestly perfect if you want to explore beyond the obvious tourist spots – you’re walking distance from some great local restaurants (there’s this incredible plov place two blocks over that I stumbled onto), and it’s easy to grab a taxi or use public transport to get to Icherisheher or the Flame Towers when you want to do the classic Baku things. Parking isn’t a nightmare if you’re driving, which is saying something for this part of the city. Look, it’s got a 7.3 rating for a reason – it delivers on the fundamentals without any pretense, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need when you’re trying to actually experience a place rather than just Instagram it.

  • Very good – Noushad from United Arab Emirates – 12 October 2022 (8/10)

Best hotel value for money in Baku. No bad smell which normally you feel in a low-cost hotels. Initially I booked an expensive hotel, but my wife suggested this hotel saying we won't be spending full-time in the hotel rooms as most of our time we will be on sightseeing. So I selected this hotel and with that extra amount saved from expensive hotel cancellation I managed to cover all our other expenses in Baku!!. But this hotel was also very good. Only thing I felt bad was breakfast they need to improve. Receptionist Ali is an ideal hotel receptionist for any hotel and was extremely helpful and supportive. He is the best guy I met in Baku who speaks good English. He detailed us all tourist information and also helped us getting cabs. The night receptionist Rauf was also good but we hadn't much interaction. In short don't spend your money on expensive hotels if you can get rooms in hotels like Premier which covers all your basic needs.

What could be improved: Breakfast items and location (location not a big issue as cabs are very cheap on bolts app. Maximum 5 manat from one end to the other end of the city,)

  • Pleasant – Malik from Oman – 5 September 2022 (6/10)

    The staff

What could be improved: The bathroom was not maintained .. The room's mat smelled bad not sure why
