Look, I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Perla De Mar on Muslum Magomayev street, I wasn’t expecting much from another mid-range hotel in Sabayil. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. The location is pretty sweet if you know Baku at all – you’re right in the heart of things without dealing with the absolute chaos of the tourist traps closer to the Old City walls.

What really got me was how the staff seemed to genuinely care about getting things right. I mean, check-in was smooth (no weird paperwork drama like some places here), and they actually remembered my name the next morning – which honestly doesn’t happen that often in four-star hotels. The restaurant downstairs is where this place really shines though. I was skeptical at first because hotel restaurants in Azerbaijan can be hit or miss, but their plov was legitimately some of the best I’ve had in the city. The morning spread isn’t just the usual continental stuff either – they do proper local breakfast options alongside the standard eggs and toast situation.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, nothing fancy but everything works properly (the AC actually cools things down, miracle of miracles). I stayed on the fourth floor and it was surprisingly quiet considering you’re on a pretty busy street – though you’ll still hear some traffic if you’re a super light sleeper. Parking can be a bit tricky during peak hours, but there’s usually something within a block or two if you don’t mind walking. What I really appreciated was being able to walk to Fountain Square in about ten minutes, and you’re close enough to the Caspian waterfront that you can actually stroll down there for evening walks. The Flame Towers look pretty spectacular from some of the upper floor windows too, especially at night when they’re doing their light show thing. It’s not luxury by any stretch, but for the price point and that 8.3 rating, Perla De Mar delivers exactly what it promises – a solid, comfortable base for exploring Baku without any nasty surprises.

  What could be improved: Не указано, что номер категории эконом без окна в комнате. В наличии закрытая глухая зашторенная дверь. Есть маленькое окно в ванной, выходящее на стену соседнего дома.
  Днём это очень неудобно.
  Дверь в санузле открывается только снаружи. Изнутри выйти нельзя самостоятельно. Удивительно, но тем не менее.
  Нет терминала оплаты картой, хотя в описании указано. Оплата только наличными

  – Gentle and helpful personnel.
  – Possibility to stay with a dog.
  – Delicious breakfast.
  – Location inside the Old city.
  
  What could be improved: The only way to pay for stay is by cash. There was no change at the reception, and the hotel did not plan to manage this problem. As a result, we changed the money by ourselves to get the rest of the money back.
  
  Also you should not choose this hotel if you have a lot of luggage. Since the entrance is in the middle of a long staircase.

  Атмосферный и прекрасный отель в центре Баку,300 метров от моря, пешком до улицы Низами.Сам отель расположен в старом городе не далеко от места падения Никулина, очень удобная локация.В отеле супер обслуживание,очень позитивный и интеллигентный персонал👍номера новые, ванная превосходная.Остались отличные воспоминания! Всем рекомендую!!!
