The lobby has this warm, lived-in feeling – not that sterile “boutique” vibe where everything looks pretty but feels cold. The staff actually remembers your name after the first day (rare for a 4-star, trust me), and they know their neighborhood well enough to point you toward the good local spots instead of just the tourist traps near Flame Towers. Check-in was smooth, no weird paperwork drama that sometimes happens in Azerbaijan if you’re not prepared for it.

What really won me over was how they handle the little things that matter when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The Wi-Fi works properly throughout the building – I’m talking video calls from your room without lag. The beds are firm enough that you don’t wake up feeling like you slept in a cloud (I actually hate overly soft hotel beds), and the bathrooms have proper water pressure, which… well, if you’ve stayed in enough places around the Caspian, you know that’s not a given. There’s decent parking too, though you’ll want to ask about it when you book since street parking in this part of Yasamal can be a bit of a hunt during busy times.

Honestly, the 8.8 rating makes sense once you spend a night or two here. It’s not trying to be the fanciest place in Baku – you’ve got the Four Seasons and Fairmont for that – but it delivers on being a solid, comfortable base that doesn’t feel generic. The breakfast is actually good (real local honey, proper tea, not just continental stuff), and they’re flexible about timing if you’re dealing with jet lag or have early meetings. I appreciated that they stock the minibar with some local items alongside the usual international brands – small touch, but it shows they’re thinking about the experience rather than just filling rooms.

  It was a large apartment with three bedrooms, a spacious living room, and a fully equipped kitchen (including a fridge, microwave, etc.). The location was great — close to the old city. There was a breakfast buffet, which was fine.
  
  What could be improved: There was a lot of confusion when we had to check in. As it turned out, the apartment wasn’t part of the hotel, but was located a couple of streets away — something that should be mentioned on Booking.com, because it can be hard to get there with heavy luggage or for someone who can’t easily walk long distances.
  
  The receptionist who brought us there barely spoke English and couldn’t explain where we were going. It felt a bit spooky, especially when he took us to a different building — not the one we were supposed to stay in — and told us to pay in cash.
  We refused, and after complaining several times, we were eventually allowed to pay by card the next day. Overall, communication with the young reception staff was difficult, as they often seemed confused and uninformed.
  
  The Wi-Fi in the apartment was not working, and we had no hot water for the final two days of our stay.

  Отель расположен в красивом и тихом районе, идеально подходит для тех, кто хочет отдохнуть от городской суеты. Номера комфортные, с удобными кроватями и всеми необходимыми удобствами. Персонал был дружелюбным и внимательным к нашим просьбам. Завтрак был свежим и приготовлен с домашней любовью, с разнообразием блюд. Мы особенно наслаждались свежими соками и выпечкой. В отеле также есть замечательная терраса, где приятно выпить утренний кофе. Мы очень довольны и порекомендуем это место нашим друзьям!
